To me, Strays seems more cohesive and sounds like a band playing together.I appreciate that aspect of it.
its highly polished. I think I've heard pip live a handful of times. The instrument players in janes are very tight. Unfortunately that's all they have left.

I remember going like HMV to buy Strays the day before the release date...the 18 year old girl told me she couldn't sneak me a copy and the said "Isn't that song great" (Just Because)...when I told her they originally came out in the 80's etc she was completely floored...so if Strays happened to turn a younger generation of kids onto JA then win win imo...I just hope they checked out the older stuff...

Fishbone to play after show(s?) for the Vegas run. Article hints that they may bring horns to the Jane's set, too.

This is much more along the lines of what this band should be doing.

Probably 10 years ago now I posted a dream festival where Jane's would headline each night playing one of their first 3 albums. Eric would of course be on board. Each day would be filled with acts like Decon, Polar Bear, P4P, Banyan, Hellride, etc, as well as related bands like Fishbone, Chili Peppers and so on. Members from each band would sit in with other bands. Each night would end with a massive jam/performance from various members of all bands.

For me, that would have been the coolest thing Jane's could have ever done.

Define successful.

And 20+ years?

It had only been 12 since Ritual was released, and 6 since Relapse.

He asked for some examples why it could be considered a success. Doesnt mean I agree with them.

What do you think the chance of Fishbone ending up on Idiots Rule are?

We EXPECT that to be the situation, which can only mean that somehow they will choose not to do it that way.

You're a liar if you say you wouldn't go to that festival.

I hear ya. In fairness, that was 10 years ago. But even still, I'd go in a heartbeat.

Your examples of successful are interesting to say the least. Most people would probably choose "well received" or "highly purchased" to describe an album as successful. Not a single magazine review with a notoriously poor track record of scoring Jane's albums and a guess that it was nominated for what most consider a meaningless award.
