how in hell did you figure that? you skipped a whole year. JA, and i don't say this with the disdain that some others might, provides a very nice living for all of these guys. this year, while busy with lolla, JA did gigs in the spring and a full out tour in the summer. summer sheds and festivals are good business season. if they do plan on continuing, there's no reason they couldn't do shows at any time except the 6 weeks of p4p (one week for rehearsals and costume fittings plus the five week tour). my guess is that if they shut it down its because some or all of them don't want to do it, but unless that's the case, we'll probably see them out there in the fall and then definitely in the summer of 2014.bman wrote:So Winter 14 will be some P4P, then PF will be 55 in the spring. He'll be busy will Lolla. Looks like this really could be the final run of Janes for a long time, at least till Summer 15.

One thing you're not taking into account is the band has reached a point of oversaturation as the current tour has proven. Unless they want to drop down to doing House of Blues and club tours next year which I think they'd *still* have a hard time selling out (and even if they did, would likely not make much of a profit considering their expenses) in many markets. And what more do they have to offer? No one wants to see a tour focusing around the Strays and TGEA stuff which leaves the band with the same batch of songs they've been flogging to death since day one.tubro wrote:how in hell did you figure that? you skipped a whole year. I think a year plus off at least in North America with only some sporadic shows elseware after this year is done is very likely if not a full on hiatus for the band for a few years.

That will give Perry ample time to hand pick a new studio collaborator to help him rewrite 10 of the supposed 60 songs he has into something half listenable.Pandemonium wrote:

I'm all for Agua. Definitely the same vibe as GGU, which is one of my favorite albums ever. Thing is - if there's new Porno material, as in a full album, I'm not going to be that pumped about it. It's just too little too late. While I expect it to be better than new Jane's material, the bar is so low these days that I just can't get excited for ANY new songs from these guys. If this new album was coming out in 2001 or so, I'd be amped, but not so much in 2013. Especially after all that us fans have had to go through.
Even Agua doesn't hit me like it would have if it was actually on GGU, yet it's in the same vein as that album. That right there just shows that the magic for this type of music to me has passed. Still, I'll pick up the new album if/when it comes out...after some snippet preview listening sessions, of course.
