At least Dave has playing early 80's covers with Camp Freddy to look forward to while Perry burns P4P to the ground in 2014.creep wrote:dave was saying tonight on his radio show that "we have a bullshit show at some stupid indian casino. the next step is playing fairs." at least he knows the end is near.

Lazy and Old. P4P should be nothing more than a few shows and an ITunes 2 song release. Jane's has trouble filling small clubs. P4P will have 100 people.
Best Idea would be for Perry to ACTUALLY create music in the same room as Dave and Steve.

meh .. i think there is no creative juice left .. way back when they all grew up together in some fashion .. shared a house .. lived on the road .. LA .. dead mothers .. surfing buds .. all sorts of stuff that drew them together .. a shared experience .. at this point they are all so disjointed and doing there own thing .. I just don't believe that even sitting in the same room is gonna make any magic .. janes was a struggle to the top .. pfp still had something to prove .. now .. its just about making a product and making money .. perry hasn't come with a decent lyric in a decade or 2 .. even when he tries to tap into his roots lyrically as he did on tgea .. it still comes off so fake and lifeless and meaningless .. they are not living an inspired life anymore .. none of them .. its just about getting cash in pocket .. and not even necessary cash like to eat and stay warm .. we are talking tatoo daves balls money .. more fancy hotel money .. they are all just different people now with no real reason to do this anymore .. even eric could care less .. pfp is gonna be a fun show if it happens .. but new music by any of them even if they lived together for a whole year .. there is just nothing interesting they have to say anymore .. they live boring corporate lives.

Clearly you don't understand how this band works.
Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
I agree with you 100%. I do think TGEA had 4 pretty decent songs though. For me, Janes is still a Fun event to go to and rock out to. I still would rather have that every day over Porno. But I'll definitely check p4p out again if they play. I just won't have that same anticipation that I get for a JA show.trevor ayer wrote:meh .. i think there is no creative juice left .. way back when they all grew up together in some fashion .. shared a house .. lived on the road .. Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
Are you for real? How many TGEA or Uproar shows did you go to? I went to a bunch and had a couple of disappointing shows. For the most part, all the NYC area shows were very good to great. And yea, being up front and rocking out to Three Days, Ted, Whores, Then She Did, Ocean Size, etc is fucking fun.kv wrote:i will never understand how it's stays fun for you

Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
i don't know if it's a guy/girl thing. I think it's more "how often do you go to shows?"
Someone who only goes to one show a year, and spends that money to see Jane's Addiction, is going to have a fun time.
Someone who sees 3-5 shows a month, whether it's newer or older bands, isn't going to be as impressed with Jane's Addiction.
First because Jane's Addiction, even on their best night, still gets all their songs phoned in by their singer
Second, because every other band actually spends weeks/months rehearsing to be as amazing live as possible. The energy and precision you get from a band who has practiced and is in shape is much better than you're going to get from dead dinosaurs like Jane's.

Some nights are much better than others that's for sure. Good thing for me is that Janes puts on their best shows in NY!
Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
i was for sure being serious....and i went to zero of those shows because for me they have been a shell of their former self for over a decade...but i started to wonder if maybe you were into dave or think perry is hot...fuck i don't know..i don't get it and was reaching for straws...no offense though glad you are still having fun seeing jane's...they need every cash paying fan they can get these daysbman wrote:Are you for real? Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
You should of went to a few. Some were really good.
Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
not to me..i watch the youtube clips and fucking cringe...they used to make the hair on my neck stand up...if i play the orig cd's, old boots or old clips they still do ...
now answer me! do you have a thing for dave or perry? it's the only thing that makes sense...did you see old jane's? i think you have right? do you like other bands way past their prime? do you smile when you step in dog shit? i have to get to the bottom of this bman
you're an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, surrounded by mystery i know

Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
what's not to get? i have seen them a couple times since ninja and always had fun. add a few beers and it's even a better time. why is that so hard to understand? bman sometimes goes beyond having a good time to saying how great they were. maybe great comparing them to current shows but not great comparing them to what they were.
Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
I'm 39. I've been a superfan since I was 17. I saw JA on the original lolla tour first time. Now I've seen them 25 times. The only bands I bother to see are Wilco (something like 15 times), P4P (10 times), Spiritualized sometimes, maybe New Order. So yea, JA is big deal for me. It's fun b/c when the fuck else do I get to rock out and lose my shit. It's a release. Once they're done, so is my youth! Jane's make me feel young what can I say. And yea, you've missed some great shows. I don't compare eras.
Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
don't get me wrong creep, i'm not going after bman here i was honestly curious
i'll move along
bman youth is in your head, age is just a fucking number...you don't have to cling to your past to feel young. go see bands you never heard of and rock the fuck out...expand your horizons just don't rely on tried and true...and safe
(didn't answer the dave/perry question but i am leaving)

Coolest show I've seen. 10/18/11 Irving Plaza. TGEA dropped. Tiny club. Rowdy ass crowd. Good Times.

Something is not hipster just because it's not mainstream.
Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
dude they are as hipster as they come...and they are pretty main stream to boot

I'm not implying that it is.Six7Six7 wrote:Indie band.Artemis wrote:So, the casino gig, they're opening for Portugal the man??

Portugal. the man seems to be one of the bands that is really popular with the hipster types.
Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
And the bar is somehow lowered even more- there is literally nothing left that's even somewhat interesting to talk about right now. I'm just gonna wait until the rhof when Eric pops in
Re: Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour
if any of the p4p ever gets released we will have plenty to talk about. it will all be positive and great i'm sure.
new perryetty music will be fun too to discuss.
