for those that listen... dark matter has left moheak and is going to sirius.

this will for sure grow their audience but most likely they will not be allowed to stream the show for those of you that do not have sirius since sirius is a subscription service.

I've got Sirius in my car, but there's basically zero chance I'll ever listen to this. :noclue:

I love Dave, just not that much.

it's a good "once a week" show. i don't think i could take it every day.

lately though it hasn't been as good since dave seems to bring in some uninteresting porn star every week. it gets a little old. other that that it's basically dave getting really annoyed and angry at every caller.

Does the show have topics or it's just chatting about whatever people call in about?

I've never heard it before.

I have Sirius in my car.

I considered buying a separate radio, till I realized you have to have a separate subscription plan for it.

Absolutely ridiculous that you need to pay for a new subscription for every single radio you own. Not going to happen.

Of course, I COULD add the online stream for 3.99 a month.

I may consider it. Maybe.

the online streaming is worth it. most shows are "on demand" and you can download shows to your phone. this is good when you mostly listen to talk radio like me. i have sirius in my car but usually listen through my phone.

i used to drive an hour to work and loved finding new bands during my drive. Now i live 6 miles from where i work and feel totally out of the loop musically. So i could probably use the online stream just so i can listen at work.

I will probably do it eventually.

Agreed. It's the usual "what is the preparation for anal sex" talk.... :eyes: nothing new. And of course all are big numbers in porn  - not to talk about that i think some are really ugly. :noclue:

I loved it when musicians are guests like Billy Morrisson or Carina Round and they play music.

It would be a bummer if i can not listen to it anymore though...

Weird. I listen to is from time to time, but an everyday show on a paid subscriber? I don't see that lasting long. For one thing, I can't imagine them having enough material for that, with the same old run porn talk and weird callers. I don't think many people will buy Sirius just for this. Howard Stern, yeah, but Dark Matter? Plus, there are always ways around to get any of those shows for free.

it will still be once a week

sirius pays "celebrities" decent money to have weekly shows. i know tony hawk and bam margera have weekly shows and i'm sure many more that i don't know of.

I love Dark Matter. Dave is witty as hell. I called in one time. I guess I'll have to get Sirius.

Unless Dark Matter hosted the EA interview when he changed his mind about playing with Jane's, I have never heard the show....nor have the slightest interest. And I only followed that story because I knew he'd do it and everyone and their mother said I was batshit crazy for saying so.

The phone conversation between Dave and Carmen was awesome, they are getting along so well, it was a really nice listen :thumb:

The show makes me uncomfortable at times as in an embarrassment for the hosts. I think they should keep it to drug stories. Really camp freddy radio was way better, at least I heard crazy drug stories back then and they had musician guest. Some people no matter how much they talk about being a musician, still care about music and want to hear creative behind the scenes stories.

I just think that show has little to offer these days, I'm surprised.

Never listened, because well 1am on a Thursday morning on the East coast is sleepy time

But from what I have seen advertised I haven't missed much. It seems like every week is some Adult Entertainer which I have no interest in and a few wacko fan girls calling in.

So switching to Sirrus doesn't faze me

That reminds me of the Jay and Silent Bob Podcast where the first 6 months or so it was the two of em talking about Jay's drug abuse, how it affected their relationship and the movies, projects, etc as well as his rehab experiences...now they do skits and took it on the road and its more of a format and less entertaining imo...

As for Dark Matter, never listened, have no interest...

I used to feel that way too. I didn't like Todd or Dan and thought they pailed in comparison to Billy Morrison.

Loved CFR, hated DM

Then I gave it a chance and they actually are pretty funny most of the time. It's only when Dave drags a pornstar in there that it gets bland.

DM is awesome. I work from home so Friday mornings I always listen to it at my desk. I wish there were more Drug stories too. Todd and Dan are a riot. Jessica, I really don't know why she's there because she doesn't ever say a word. Dave doesn't really like to talk about Janes too much but I love it when he tells a funny drug or Perry story.

here's the big dirty sirius joke.
they will basically give it away if you hold out long enough.
truth be told i really enjoy the programming on sirius, which i have in both of my cars.
but as a commercial, money making company they are a collossal cluster fuck of a failure.
this fact manifests itself in a variety of ways, but none more than the fact that, like a dude selling you soapstone chess sets or sex with his sister in tijuana, no price is real - whatever they ask for is just a starting point. when i bought a new car recently and called them to turn on the service after the 90 days free ran out, they started at whatever the fuck they list as a price on their website - 20 a month maybe? and by the time i was done telling the guy i really didn't want it, they had given me a year for like 80 something bucks with the internet thrown in and, as if that wasn't enough, a credit on my other car and a home radio that i bought for my father some years back. they lowered the price on those two accounts retroactively and ended up owing me money because they had been prepaid.
i guess they can only sell advertising and sponsorships based on how many subscribers they have so they just don't care how much they get.

its bizarre - the product is really pretty good. good talk radio and streaming of tv news networks. a pretty wide variety of theme radio stations for music. patti smith live on New Year's Eve. sports. opera. the dead. a wfmu clone station. kiddie shit for if you've got your little fuckwads in the car and they really need a laurie berkner fix. howard stern. and now, dark matter, to go with the many many other shows and hosts that nobody cares about or listens to.

all for, basically, whatever you offer them.

i paid the $3.50 a month.

I figure it's worth it to listen at work.

The shady thing though, is that because i had paid up my Sirius for 3 years, to add internet listening they made me add it for the length of my contract.

So there went 85 bucks. haha

I just can't get past the awful sound quality Sirius delivers. I guess if all I listened to was talk radio, it'd be worth a few bucks a month even if I long ago got tired of Howard Stern, but when I had the 90 day trail in my new car last year, the novelty of several artist-themed stations that played a ton of bootlegs was quickly offset by the compressed, crummy sound.

dave told an interesting story tonight. he was with a girl that was also hooking up with alex rodriguez. arod apparently gets off while watching this girl with other guys....so she skyped arod while she was giving dave a blow job and arod was masturbating during the blow job. arod was also married at the time. :noclue:

Hilarious story.

It sucks that he drops this right before taking a 2 month break from the show.
