Dave planning two solo albums simultaneously
Re: Dave planning two solo albums simultaneously
If Dave releases these solo albums (doubtful) I hope that they include those good instrumental things that went unreleased from the TGEA sessions. I loved those. No vocals on them, please.
Re: Dave planning two solo albums simultaneously
clearly I missed something. where can I find those good instrumental things?Jasper wrote:...those good instrumental things that went unreleased from the TGEA sessions. I loved those.
Re: Dave planning two solo albums simultaneously
were nothing more then snippets in some youtube videos
Re: Dave planning two solo albums simultaneously
Listened to the DM podcast and it was just a "yeah i will definitely do two albums with different musical sytles" - no word on when, he also said it will happen after the documentary (how long are they working on that?). So i do not believe it will happen any time soon. I also agree about the instrumentals of TGEA - hope he will include them in some kind, i loved them too. Regarding doing a solo record the way Slash did...i don't think so, he once said he wouldn't do a thing like that.
I guess the NY passion was born last year when he spent months there for doing Ink Master.
Still doubtful that he really moves

Re: Dave planning two solo albums simultaneously
When in the DM podcast does he talk about this?
Re: Dave planning two solo albums simultaneously
it's right around an hour in, but he just mentions it briefly and moves on. He doesn't elaborate on what the styles will be and why two etc. which would have been very interesting to know.

I'm just glad to know that Dave is going to stay creative. 2004-2010 or so was a pretty down period for him creatively. While I don't LOVE TGEA Dave does some really solid work on it. Light years better than The Panic Channel.

yeah, I feel the exact same way

Well I put the story on my site and a couple others have ran with it. Dave better follow through with this now!

Let's just hope he doesn't get a radio show, tv show, girlfriend, drug habit, hosting gig, or club dates.Deconstruction wrote:Well I put the story on my site and a couple others have ran with it. Dave better follow through with this now!
If his calendar stays clear of anything and everything he's ever done before, this will totally happen.
Re: Dave planning two solo albums simultaneously
Suuuuure he is.
And Perry's planning Lollapalooza on Mars.
At this point these guys are old and their upcoming projects they never follow through on will be less likely to see the light of day than ever.
Between their ages, work ethic and modern music landscape I would be more surprised if we ever see more than a few tracks here and there from any of them than if they did anything more than that.
I give them credit for TGEA and it's tour. Both were better than I expected. But life is short. You cant release an album once a decade at their ages.

Too old to act like they can take years off between albums and still come back with any amount of energy needed to represent themselves well.

Yeah, well I'm old and I can run faster/farther than you.SR wrote:hokahey wrote: At this point these guys are old.
