Jay Mohr on Jane's Addiction
Re: Jay Mohr on Jane's Addiction
cool, I didn't see that coming. I would have bet on Metallica as his favorite band or something
Re: Jay Mohr on Jane's Addiction
I'd like a copy of that boot. I swear I had one, but it's not in my files...
Re: Jay Mohr on Jane's Addiction
pretty good memory by jay...pretty impressive. i just listened to ted from the show and he is a little off on the perry rant but it's great. perry keeps cracking up.

Re: Jay Mohr on Jane's Addiction
how do you not know that guy, he's been around for a long time. Multi talented dude, does an excellent Christopher Walken impersonation fx
Re: Jay Mohr on Jane's Addiction
I know him from SNL (loved his character on steroids with really thin legs, face with pimples and with mood swings ) He was also in Jerry Maguire...

I didn't know this guy either. I love hearing that other people have had similar obsessions, or just got as big a kick as I did hearing Perry onstage in those early years. He should be made an honorary ANR member.

Re: Jay Mohr on Jane's Addiction
Is a 'biker-themed' bar one in which there are no actual bikers, but a bunch of hipsters thought it would be ironic to put Harley shit on the walls?Pure Method wrote:the bartender played jane's at the biker-themed bar i was in last night

'Boojie' = hipster word for 'bourgeois'?Pure Method wrote:Adurentibus Spina wrote:Is a 'biker-themed' bar one in which there are no actual bikers, but a bunch of hipsters thought it would be ironic to put Harley shit on the walls?Pure Method wrote:the bartender played jane's at the biker-themed bar i was in last night

Re: Jay Mohr on Jane's Addiction
OK, since this show was in my hometown, I can correct him and say that the WWF "show" would have been several blocks down the same road, not across the street.
Also, I talked to the guy who did sound at this show (I've played the same club and he still worked there until a few years ago) and he recalls that the band was really strung out and it was a struggle to get them onstage.
However, Perk (as expected) could not have been that stoned because in one of the two conversations I've had with him I asked him about this show and he seems to remember it fairly vividly. Although much of what he said was about Perry's rant onstage which makes me think his memory is based on the boot recording.
