Arcade Fire and Muse are utterly different bands - it's like comparing mid 80's U2 to late 70's Queen.Adurentibus Spina wrote:I prefer the first album to the second. (Same for Mars Volta...) I hated Muse at first, then I saw them live and was blown away, then I liked them for a while, and now they bore me again.
I wouldn't go see Arcade Fire... but I also wouldn't see JA...
I can't speak for Arcade Fire's current tour and how they come off live, especially since it appears they have radically revamped their sound and the band structure compared to the last two albums and tours. But I saw them on their last two tours in '07 and '10 respectively and both shows were outstanding, blowing away any post 1997 Janes show by a country mile.
Regarding Muse, I think they are probably the best pure arena/stadium rawk band currently going for better or worse. I was not a big fan of the last album and passed on that tour although I love the single "Madness." However I saw them on their previous tour for the "Uprising" album and thought that was one of the best "big" arena production shows I'd seen in the last decade.
