Jane's at Bumbershoot

#1 Post by Leto » Wed May 09, 2012 12:48 am

This is a great festival. This is nice booking. I haven't been since the late nineties when I caught Yo La Tengo, Dub Narcotic, Morcheeba, Modest Mouse among others. JA's image is going to scream buttrock being among so many indie kids, ravers, and hipsters at this show.

Alt-rock survivors Jane's Addiction play Bumbershoot's Mainstage (KeyArena) on Saturday, Sept. 1.
Bumbershoot (Sept. 1 to 3), the ever-evolving summer music and arts festival that consumes the Seattle Center every Labor Day weekend, announced its lineup this morning. Headliners include Jane's Addiction, Tony Bennett, Skrillex, M83, Mac Miller, and Big Sean. Down-lineup highlights include Mudhoney, THEESatisfaction, Wanda Jackson + the Dusty 45s, M. Ward, and The Vaselines. The announced lineup (more to be added) is after the jump.

Other Things We Learned About Bumbershoot 2012 This Morning:

-- KeyArena: This is the second year in a row in which Bumbershoot is using KeyArena as its mainstage, as opposed to Memorial Stadium.

-- Seattle's Sub Pop Records is co-curating the Fountain Lawn stage, which will include acts on the label -- The Vaselines, Blitzen Trapper, Low, The Helio Sequence, etc. -- and some that are not.

-- Bumbershoot After Dark -- the festival's late-night electronic party -- is once again "powered by Decibel Festival." But this year, attendees need not buy a separate ticket. Admission is included in the price of the regular festival pass.

-- Tickets are $110 for three-day passes, $40 for day-specific tickets, and $45 for "anyday" tickets. When the festival starts, [rices jump to $135 for three-day passes, and $55 for daily tickets. Get 'em now at bumbershoot.org/tickets.

Nice. Just a few miles away from my house.

I'd say this is a coup for Jane's.
