I think I'm at 49 or 50 JA shows lol. Lolla 91 first one. Maybe a dozen Porno for Pyros shows. And too many Satellite Party/Kind Heaven shows lol. So I've probably seen Perry live close to 75x's lol.\
Actually my memory is shit. Maybe over 50 total Perry shows. I'm thinking 34 or 35 Jane's.

1991 Waterloo Village, NJ
2003 Irving Plaza, PNC Arts Center
2008 El Cid
2009 PNC, Jones Beach, Wallingford CT., New Orleans LA
2011 Bridgeport CT, Terminal 5 NYC, Irving Plaza, Irving Plaza, Atlantic City.
2012 Portland, ME, Huntington NY, Montclair, NJ, New Brunswick, Brooklyn, Terminal 5, Atlantic City.
2013 PNC, Jones Beach
2014 Vegas, Vegas, Baltimore, Times Square
2015 Brooklyn, Sayreville NJ, Huntington, Pittsburgh,
2016 Coney Island, Asbury Park
2021 Camden
2022 NYC

Concert review: Jane’s Addiction outshines an often dull Smashing Pumpkins at Xcel Energy Center

https://www.yahoo.com/now/concert-revie ... 00577.html

Jane’s Addiction won the evening with an exceptional hourlong set marred only by lead singer Perry Farrell’s inane between-song patter, which at one point had him going on at length about the hair of some dude in the crowd.

Perry's between song banter has been pretty good this tour I've thought.

And yes, Pumpkins are not much fun to see live. It's a spectacle, but Billy has lost his mind.

Perry doesn't seem wasted and actually doesn't ramble nearly as much these days. Hence the good shows!

That review of the xcel show seems on par with st. Louis. Janes rocked and SP were underwhelming.

Jane’s or related shows i have seen:

03 - kc lolla and kc at the beaumont. Loved both shows despite the fact that lolla was nothing in comparison to beaumont. I distinctly remember wrong girl being played at lolla and perry’s delay being nuts, but the beaumont was something else.
07? Satellite party at the blue note in columbia. Max of 20 people there and still i enjoyed the show. Perry in his cover band era but he still sang the shit out of p4p and janes songs.
08 or 09 - pete and perry at kidsapallooza
09 - ninja in kc and lolla in chicago. Eric was back and yet 03 was more fun. I dug the pigs jam they did in kc and then perry put out i like em big in august. Wtf. Still i stayed loyal to these cats
12 - kc at uptown. Great show again.
22 - st louis. Great show.

Looking forward to more shows next year!

As a huge fan I was worried that SP would blow them off the stage

And I’m really happy it hasn’t happened

I saw them in like 94 Lollapalooza and Corgan was angry and pissed and did everything he could to piss people off.

Ever since then I’ve watched with bemusement as he had slid into cringey insane person

I will jump in on this;

First saw Jane's in '90 in Dallas; during the Ritual tour at a bowling alley/venue--awesome & amazing; I was all in!
Saw them again in '91 in Dallas; 1st Lolla--snuck up to the front on acid & it was even more amaze-balls than the first time.
First break up; I saw P4P in '93 in Dallas; small venue/Bomb Factory--Perry was obv. on fire; I loved it.
Relapse Tour; again in Dallas in '97 w/Flea---the 2 stages was cool; but just not the same...

...and that's it. I moved to Quebec in '01. When Strays came out in '03; they had a Montreal date that was cancelled; oh well. Then, here we are in '22---OVER 20 YEARS LATER, & they cancel ALL the Canada dates... I fear I may never get to see them live again, but hoping for a tour next year & I'll travel if I have to... :blah:

Hoka and I were at that show. Prior to Tuesday night, that was my favorite Jane's show. I still have hearing loss from that night. Turned around and drove straight back to St. Louis. Drank a 2 liter of Mountain Dew and took this shit called "Truckers Luv It" that I bought at a gas station in Blue Springs. Got home and tried to go to bed, but was seeing faces I didn't know floating in front of my eyes with my eyes closed, lol. I'd just watched some shit on the Zodiac Killer and saw him float by. Needless to say I got the fuck up and stayed up until 8 am, then went into work at 10 am fucking fried. Ah the fucked up shit I used to do during Finals weeks in college.

looks like a lot of people who missed 1.0* finally are learning the facts of the matter...it's not the same fucking band/monster without EA
what's struck me going through this thread is just how many people never saw 1.0. But, it's really cool to read how many peeps are digging this.
I was lucky to see them three times pre-breakup. I was east coast then; had I been west, I’m sure it would be more. With that as my point of reference, I was super sad about the show I saw in ‘09. This run is way closer in energy, but obviously Perry is an older dude now.
My NINJA show was a yawner too. I'm not sure how many times I have seen 1.0 back in 88-91. I know I was at Scream when they played, and my memory insists I saw them at Power Tools downstairs in the lobby, but there is no record of them being there. Tbh, I was only half there, if that. Saw Lolla in Irvine. Wished I had made the Anson Ford show, but alas....I can't complain.
I mean, that’s all fucking incredible.
Yes, I'll take it. Got to take my son to the original lineup and see NIN and that was a highlight even though the show lacked. The first time I saw Dave live was in high school, at the high school. Some sort of "guitar off" was organized and he and a kid named Manny squared off. Dave won, but I thought Manny did. Dave had the seeds of the weirdness of Jane's and as with NS upon my first listen I just didn't get it. :balls:

Janes and the single Pornos shows I've seen. Notably, I've seen them with every bassist that's been in the band.

Jane’s Addiction (7/?/88 Scream club)
Jane’s Addiction (4/21/89 - John Anson Ford Theater)
Jane’s Addiction (12/19/90 – Hollywood Palladium)
Lollapalooza 1991 - Rollins Band / Siouxsie and the Banshees / Body Count / Nine Inch Nails / Jane’s Addiction (7/24/91 – Irvine Meadows)
Lollapalooza 1992- Jim Rose Circus Sideshow / Porno for Pyros / Pearl Jam / Soundgarden / The Jesus and Mary Chain / Ministry / Red Hot Chili Peppers (7/18/92 - Shoreline Amphitheater)
Goldie / Jane’s Addiction (11/22/97 - Bill Graham Civic Center, San Francisco)
Hole / Jane’s Addiction (10/27/01 - Hollywood Bowl)
Jane’s Addiction (NYE 12/31/02 – Wiltern)
Jane’s Addiction (10/23/08 - La Cita Bar – went, couldn’t get in, listened from outside)
Jane’s Addiction (11/20/08 - El Cid club)
Jane’s Addiction (2/16/09 - Echoplex club)
Jane’s Addiction (7/2/10 - The Roxy club)
Jane’s Addiction (10/27/12 –The Wiltern)
I forgot to list the 2009 NINJA show I saw at Irvine Meadows. Here's some video I shot in the pit of Jane's set (forgive the blown out audio):

Funny...this has kind of made me miss Dave. Somewhat unexpectedly, at this point.
Nothing to do with the performance itself, but just the power of 4.

Whoever entered the setlist info for Denver was wrong. Band came on 5 minutes late, Kettle Whistle opened, no other surprise songs. Perry talked a lot and they ran out of time for BCS. Eric didn't really stick around to wave to the fans, might not be anything in it though. Pumpkins were better than last week. Jeff Schroeder had an amp explode, so they played Rhinoceros while fixing the amp. Nice surprise there. Up The Beach was much more powerful as an opener. My friends who didn't know JA thought they were a better show.

I was a huge Smiths fan and my brother brought me to year 1 Lollapalooza at Waterloo Village.....it was amazing. We ended up going back for night 2. I remember being the pit and just being in the flow of the crowd at points. Literally off our feet.....just moving with crowd. It was hot and humid, storms down poured and they kicked into "Standing In The Shower.....Thinking" and it was brilliant! Take me back!!!

That first Lolla I was 17, summer going into Senior year of high school lol. Magical time. I remember being close to the front at Waterloo Village night one. When Living Colour opened with Cult of Personality the crowd erupted into an oceansize mosh pit. That was a special time. I think after that song I was moved back like 300 yards lol.

At the Toronto '91 Lolla, LC came on after Ice T & Body Count who blew every one away, myself included!I felt a little sorry for LC who had to follow up that incredible performance. For me, Ice T was the stand-out act because I didn't have any expectations and was totally wowed.

Body Count was amazing here too. NIN killed and Siouxsie and the Banshees were a perfect cushion between frenetic acts. Still the best concert I've ever been to, followed so closely by Prince on the Musicology tour.
