Still nothing from JA. It is literally hours before the show starts.

Even without going into specific details, some sort of acknowledgement of the tour status, plus an apology is overdue.

Wild.

I have to assume whatever went on is sensitive in nature or else it’s be more transparent.

This is seeming more and more likely. Everyone is being quiet out of respect. But it still doesn't explain the shitty communication about if they're playing or not.

After these comments seems safe to say Janes is done for the tour due to internal conflict/drama (may or may not involve subsequent injury... :hs: )
JA just trying to navigate way out of contract. :noclue:
SP camp and OLP don't seem to know anything, just fed PR soundbite.

So much drama.

Dave just posted a video of an art studio that says "at least I can work here until I'm back on tour."

The latest posts about all of this would seem to indicate they may still be planning to rejoin the tour, or are at least still a band.

Yes, on the positive side it does seem like a temporary situation.

How do you not show up to 3 shows and counting you are on the bill for and not have a comment....?

That's what people are pissed off about- no communication!

The way the situation is being handled comes across as a big f-u to the fans.

I was a victim of the Philly no show. While I have gone to concerts in past (pre social media) and there have been cancels, it's frustrating that there was and continues to be no messaging from the band. Friday I saw that there was a note from the arena to arrive early due to the Phillies/Temple Football and SP/JA concert. Which is funny because the last time I saw Jane's was 1997....in Philly at the Spectrum. It was a Monday night and the Eagles were playing 49ers at the Vet! Parking was a bleep-show!! To avoid same thing, I left extra early and got to parking lot at 6:20 after driving in heavy traffic for 2 hours. I had mini tailgate and decided to go inside at 7. Prior setlist.fm info said JA was going on at 730 for 1 hour. When I walked in I saw ZERO signs about JA canceling and no one mentioned a thing while scanning ticket. I walked in and heard music and was like that's odd......walked out and it's Poppy who I had not seen as a guest.....so I walked around concourse to look at merch, thinking Janes would have something cool.....not 1 booth had JA stuff. Thought that was odd. I walked around concourse to pass some time and finally go down to my seat which I purchased on Eric's side as I was happy he was back in the fold! At some point the lighting grows dark and a band walks out and i thought I saw outline of Perkins.....but then the backdrop lights up and its SP. I was like "wait....what?"......I pull out phone and go to IG and see the notice from JA that was posted at 4:32! 2 hours before doors.....you gotta be kidding me!!! I tried to enjoy it but to be honest, I was there to see Janes.....and was so bummed out I left after Tonight Tonight.

The rumor I heard is that Perry had a "pinched nerve". I get that someone's hurt and that stinks and want them to heal but I keep reading of all these people who drove/flew in from various parts of the US to attend these shows for the band and just get burned. I get the band doesn't owe us anything but seeing as we have made them pretty wealthy, the least they could give the fans is some sort of message.

My thinking on this is that JA/SP had some type of beef with each other and JA is off the tour. They will focus on new songs/material and will regroup for something big for the 35th anniversary of "Nothing's Shocking" in 2023.

We should collect scenarios and start a betting pool.

Bizarre- I guess that means they intend to resume after the Canadian dates?

I’m sure there’s a LETS ACT NORMAL protocol in place.

Speculating wildly:

If Dave is posting about a list of people he’d take a bullet for, and saying he’s arting until he can go tour—

I wonder if he’s talking about Perry — the potential bullet is touring

Lol

I’m sorry I can’t get enough. I love this band so much and stuff like this situation has my interest piqued

Also think the "injury" announcement is to absolve them of any legal actions should they bail from the tour.....

There must be a legal agreement for the silence of the camp Janes.I don't know how it works legally in this situation. Officially they canceled only Philly, other shows no official announcement. If bands don't play they don't get paid, or maybe they have rights on the pre-sales?

As a die hard NY Jets and Jane's Addiction fan, all I have is drama and heartache and a few highs every several years lol. Come on Janes! Come back to the tour! This Fall was shaping up to be good. Jets are doing OK, Jane's is back. Now this tour drama plus the jets losing two players for the year yesterday kind of evens everything out!

My favorite absurd scenario is that Dave is with them when they rejoin the tour in the US. Our collective heads would explode.

With Ben Shepherd from Soundgarden on bass.

I just checked the FB SP page and see that they FINALLY said something...2 hours ago.
Seems to be a mixed reaction about JA not playing. Some are annoyed amd some are happy.

They put up the pic with the 3 OLP dates and said this:

" Thanks to Our Lady Peace for joining SP on the road for the Spirits on Fire Canadian dates! Best wishes to Jane’s Addiction for a speedy recovery."

This made me laugh:

" Jane's Addiction live are equal to watching Mötley Crüe this past summer. I couldn't have been more relieved that they're not playing the Toronto show as OLP is 10x better live than JA." :lolol:

Surprised and glad they are rejoining the tour. But… it still doesn’t really make sense. What kind of serious injury can you get that less than a week of physical therapy can fix significantly?
