I think that's an airplay chart.

i don't know. but i see they are still using the backing track. Perry attempting to sing live over it reminds me of that Britney Spears soundboard recording that leaked out a few years ago...

i'll tell you this though.
first half of the song, say till after the second chorus, and this might have to do with the fact that i'm really high BUT, on that first half i really couldn't hear the backing track. it probably has to do with the fact that it's a crappy recording cause later on i did hear it. withouth the backing track and sounding muddy, not overpolished, i really like the song. perry sings like he's struggling to get the words out as close as he can to the pitch, and that adds a dramatic quality to a song where he finally seems to be trying to sound a BIT literary, as opposed to when he tries to push the more literal way of making lyrics.
it is a bit much of a pop song with a pop structure for my taste. but still, if they got rid of that god forsaken backing track while playing live, it think its a song i might enjoy on a live setting. but it has to be a lot dirtier. put that polish down and no one'll get hurt, janes.

Dan just posted this on his twitter...

Screamer? anyone know what that means? Does it mean "Hey Dan, turn on the backing track"?

I. Force is REALLY growing on me..the studio version..Live it Sucks right now. Leaving out the first verse! Thats's how ass backwards this band is..They think people only want a 2 minute song..Or, they are just fucking lame and lazy..Back in 97 when P4P played Hard Charger a couple of times they dropped the last verse too (except the howard gig)...I love Janes but it's now gotten to the point where I skip all the youtube clips of Mountains, Aint no right etc...With the exception of the vibes gig, this band mails it in and plays the songs note for note the same way they've done for 25 fucking years, with the same set list every night..! :balls: :balls: :balls:

Me too, but more like an unwanted hair.

For me, it's the chrous that is most annoying. The more I hear it the more I can't stand it. There is something about IF that reminds me of that Linkin Park song Catalyst. I think the chorus is sorta similar. :noclue:

it's jane's doing creed.

Big epic chorus repeated over and over, but shit verses leading to it and the lyrics are empty.

For sure. It's not horrible, it's just not for me, I guess.
It seems to be doing well on ther charts so far. I've heard it on the radio a couple of times too.

I seriously can't believe there are people that listen to Linkin Park and think it is good music. I just listened to that Catalyst song. I didn't even make it all the way through...it was like my ears were being raped.

To all the people from xiola.org that praised the Camp Freddy cover of Mountain Song with that Chester guy from Linkin Park...all I can say is FUCK YOU. Thanks to these people, now we have "Irresistible Force". Chester didn't "nail it"; he was awful and has a terrible, wussy voice.

lol, without a first verse live this song is basically vocally:

chorus/verse/chorus with the short bridge/chorus

If I had to guess I'd go with "tube screamer" or similar effect accessory? :hs:

Dan is Dave's tech, so I would expect his set list notes to reflect items pertinent to his duties.

See also the "Mic" notation next to Lies, I would assume that's when he brings out a microphone for Dave's backing vocals on that track. :noclue:

Yup...

I wonder if it's normal that after almost a year of performing that song, the guy still needs that note to remember that shit. Every. Single. Time.

Chester nailed it more than Perry has been.

Are there backing vocals on ETTL though?
