Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
source: last dark matter, when prompted by a caller, dave said that.
other highlights: dave hasn't heart "The Getaway" and any other new albums in the last 10 years, plus claims not to have heard TGEA.

How can you make an audio recording without hearing it?
Also... good god, how did you sit through Dark Matter? It's awful.

Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
Did he say why there would never be another one? (not that it really matters)
Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
I've always wondered how many musicians make records they never hear. I can imagine TGEA artist is like that for at least two of them.
Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
Really never listened to TGEA??? How do you not? Who mixed it? You don't listen to it mastered? I call bullshit, Dave's acting too cool for school by saying that.

Lol.
Not surprised he hasn't listened to TGEA.

You guys should take anything he says on DM with a grain of salt.
More often than not he is just talking shit to get a laugh with his friends.

Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
he was making the point that he never listens to albums. i get that. the only new albums in the last five years i listened to all the way through are probably sol invictus and tgea. tgea only once.
he also said that these are the last jane's shows ever. that might be true. he has mentioned in the past that he doesn't make much money with jane's (i wonder why ). the tv money might be enough for him at this point.
i used to enjoy dark matter at one time. now it's getting a little old. dan is funny, dave is a dick, todd is entertaining at times and jess ads absolutely nothing. the callers are the absolute worst though.

Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
I'm guessing that the two solo albums he said he'd do last year or the year before are long forgotten......
Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
Did he say these are the last shows of the year or last shows period? I hope its the former.

I would say of the year, because I don't think Dave has a say in this.someguy wrote:Did he say these are the last shows of the year or last shows period? I hope its the former.

yup, that's what I think, too.creep wrote:

Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
Thank god. One less album to add to the list of "except these ones."

Oops, meant to say latter.someguy wrote:Did he say these are the last shows of the year or last shows period? I hope its the former.
Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
Usually good albums are few and far between. The last good one I heard all the way through was Beck's Morning Phase, but that is a goddamn masterpiece.creep wrote:he was making the point that he never listens to albums. i get that. the only new albums in the last five years i listened to all the way through are probably sol invictus and tgea. tgea only once.
Last shows for the year. He mentioned it today on Twitter.he also said that these are the last jane's shows ever. that might be true.
Ink Master is his Lollapalooza.he has mentioned in the past that he doesn't make much money with jane's (i wonder why ). the tv money might be enough for him at this point.
I think it's hilarious. I tune in every Wednesday.i used to enjoy dark matter at one time. now it's getting a little old. dan is funny, dave is a dick, todd is entertaining at times and jess ads absolutely nothing. the callers are the absolute worst though.

Last shows of the year, not last shows ever. Dark Matter is funny. Dave is a dick but he's a pretty quick witted.
Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
me either.SR wrote:Never listened once.
I have better things to do at 1am EST. Like sleep
It's not like the old SRL which was spontaneous and organic. He was brutally honest & less of a dick

Oh good. Pretty soon they'll hit the 30 year anniversary of NS and can play it in full at a summer festival near you! Then it's just a short time period until we can do the same with Ritual! Lot's to look forward to guys!bman wrote:Last shows of the year, not last shows ever. Dark Matter is funny. Dave is a dick but he's a pretty quick witted.

I don't pay attention of member band statements about: break out, reunions, no more, relapse, dead and buried, future plans, break out, never say never, drama, friends again, break out, new projects....
A 30 year story of a disfunctional family.

hahhahah gold:
Jane’s Addiction are set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday. The band has a history of fallouts and breakups. Below is a timeline of the band’s drama.
1991: Jane’s Addiction break up at their absolute peak after Ritual de lo Habitual and the first Lollapalooza tour established them as one of the pioneering acts in alternative rock.
1997: Jane’s Addiction reunite with Flea taking over on bass for Eric Avery, and split after a ‘Relapse’ tour due to heroin abuse by Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro.
2001: Jane’s Addiction reunite with Porno for Pyros bassist Martyn LeNoble on bass.
2002: Perry Farrell fires Martyn LeNoble and Chris Chaney replaces him for the recording of Strays.
2004: Jane’s Addiction split again when Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Chris Chaney announce they’re dumping Perry Farrell and forming a new band (The Panic Channel) with former MTV VJ Steve Isaacs.
2008: After 17 years, Jane’s Addiction reunite with original bassist Eric Avery.
2009: Jane’s Addiction attempt to record new material with Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor producing. Perry Farrell and Eric Avery clash in the studio, leading to the new song “Embrace The Darkness” never seeing the light of day.
2010: Eric Avery quits and is replaced by Duff McKagan.
2010: Duff McKagan quits and is replaced by Chris Chaney and Dave Sitek for the recording The Great Escape Artist, with Chaney later officially rejoining the band.
2013: Jane’s Addiction reportedly fight during 2013 tour.
