Homeland the tv series

#1 Post by nausearockpig » Sat Jan 07, 2012 9:03 pm

I am loving this show! Up to episode 10 (from 12) of season 1. Season 2 has been green-lit so that will be great!

We just watched the last episode. Holeeeeeee shit!!! I can only see him coming good at the end of the show, I can't see a post-9/11 USA promoting a show that portrays one of their own turning against them.

meh, the show is just a 24 rehash with a bigger budget and better writing. thought the finale lacked balls.

So much better than 24. Homeland is realistic.

just watched season one this weekend so id be ready for season two. i think its good and definitely entertaining, but i dont think it should have won over season four of breaking bad. some of the plot twists are a little too unbelievable for me. but its something good to watch in the fall.

24 had better comedic value though

now that i'm watching the series i get to bitch about it. they wait the whole fucking episode before the suicide tape is brought up and looking at the previews they are not going to arrest him. senator or not that guy would disappear as soon as that tape was discovered.

It looked like his SUV (and I thought I saw his bald head).

24-like moments that hurt the show:

Like creep was complaining about, that thing where they assigned Brody with transferring the tailor to the safehouse was ridiculous. Why not someone else - anyone else? He's a congressman, and he risked being seen and recognized, recorded on security cameras, and so on. Plus they made him miss his speaking event, and their whole plan involved having him behave like a normal member of congress.

The second stupid thing was that fucking death squad that stormed the tailor's shop last week. That was ridiculous. Why the hell did they have matching state-of-the-art tactical police gear? To be more conspicuous? Why was this important thing (bomb materials?) left hidden in the Tailor's shop when he was dead? Obviously it was going to be found pretty soon if the guy wasn't opening his store, paying his rent, and so on. They could have taken it out discretely, but they waited until they had to kill multiple government employees in a gigantic gunfight. Also, the fact that they can mobilize a professional death squad at the drop of the hat makes the first stupid thing (Brody and the tailor) even more ridiculous.

I hope they can avoid anything else so stupid, but these shows always seem to think they need to escalate things to the point of absurdity.

i thought tonight's episode was great. i've learned that with this show you just have to suspend belief as some of the shit that goes down would never happen. it's not as bad as 24 though.

my favorite part was when everyone was listening to carrie fuck brodie.

This last episode required the most suspension thus far, but I'm hooked.

I'm the same exact way and since I have found sites that stream the shows its gotten worse. Because then I can get work done while watching the shows from my Macbook. But its nice when I have to fly to have those to fall back on. I do have all the Archers on my HDD though because that is probably my favorite show.
