Lush is happening...

...and I forgot to add The Breeders to my initial list... I already have the discography... I just don't listen to it much lately. Funny story... the woman who took my virginity looked like a slightly thinner version of Kim Deal circa 90's...

Lush were an English alternative rock band, formed in 1987 and disbanded in 1998.

Yup. The show I was at, the girls also came out and jammed with Ministry for a couple of songs. Pretty sure one of them was "Supernaut".

I was there too. Did you stop at the McDonald's just before the park? And on the way home at The TIm Horton's to use the bathroom?

Why that sticks in my mind, I do not know. :noclue:

Hehe. That was a tradition for many people. I lived in Barrie then...so I walked to shows at Molson Park. It's a shame the park is now gone; they turned it into a bunch of box stores (Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc).

Pearl Jam stayed at the Holiday Inn that was right behind my house.

the new florence + the machine (double album) is pretty good---reminds of a cross between siouxsie & fiona apple.... florence looks a little like siouxsie too...

edie brickell & new bohemians were good back in the day...

Forgot about these two bands. I liked Lush up until they went pop in 1996. Their 1994 album 'Split' -- and Desire Lines especially -- is pretty terrific.

The Breeders I still and will always enjoy.

A lot of my favorite chicks aren't in rock or modern pop, so knowing Bob's tastes, I feel like he'd probably not like them or be ambivalent. Luckily I have some other suggestions, most of whom I've blabbered on about before.

Grass Widow (All their stuff is great):

Broadcast (one of my true loves, and a still-fresh tragedy  :cona: ):

The Ruby Suns
This is a great album. Mostly not female vocals, but this one has 'em, and it's a f'ing great tune, brilliant arrangement, etc.:

I guess it's quite possible Bob might like White Hinterland:

Peaking Lights
Probably too out-there for old Bobby Badtrips, but it's from one of my top albums of the year:

Madeleine Peyroux
And just to try to pry Bob away from rock/pop a tiny little bit:

They played some shows recently and there is talk that they are going to release some new music in 2012.
