The uninspired performances and the meh albums of late are disappointing but honestly I'm fine with it...honestly, bands like the Peppers and Metallica did enough cool stuff in their first 15 years or so where I give them license to do whatever at this point...they're no longer bands, they're corporate entities to some extent and they CAN'T simply make some of these calls on their own. I don't know about you guys but I saw LEGENDS play for less than $50 back in the day so if these same people wanna overcharge people younger than us at this point I don't judge. Just put on a good show...but I understand...Slash was playing some rooftop event here in NYC a while back...I got very excited until I saw the CHEAPEST ticket was a thousand dollars

But that's my point...why? Why fuck the people who put you in the position to attain and maintain generational wealth? I just don't get it and never expected it from this crew. So much else could be contributed and affected by noy being Taylor Swifts stepson on touring critical paths.

It’s the fees that get you.

It's based on his autobiography. The worst part of the book were all the humble brags about women.

RHCP new manager is U2's old manager. Guy Oseary did 8 years with them before being replaced. He followed the legend, Paul McGuinness. Oseary is co-producing the film. Everything is a full money grab sprint. :eyes:

So, I won't be attending the movie just like the upcoming shows.

Still so disheartening to me how much they're charging for tickets on the upcoming leg. My 7 year old loves them, and I was really looking forward to taking him to see them for his possibly only time.

I know you know better than probably most of us here, SR, but I'd honestly felt like Guys was going to nose his way in for years, considering how close of friend he's been with Anthony for decades. With the U2 and Madonna history, the money grab sadly feels appropriate. Oof.

Hmm...didn't know the two were friendly. Really sucks on the missed memory for you and your kiddo. Looking back, I just don't get it. I have personally seen so many instances of AK's kindness and humility (though this was back in '05 or so) It all seems so far away from anything Froosh would want to be part of too.

I wonder how much of it is feeling their mortality and realizing there’s only so much time left to capitalize on their life’s work. Still, gouging your fans for every penny feels shitty.

Yeah, I think they've been friends since early/mid 90's. The "Me and Guy-O" line in "Around the World" is reference to him.

Yeah, it definitely stinks. While most of the new material is just ok to me, I love that he loves it (he also absolutely loves "Agua" right now too, haha) and I wish I could facilitate that memory from him too. We have Fishbone and PFunk from this last summer, so I was able to get that one.

Yeah, like Hoka said above, I can imagine the mortality factor and knowing they won't be able to do it at a strong level that much longer probably is probably strong. Similar to what's happening with Jane's/P4P, just on a much much larger scale.

Fishbone should be in the R&R HOF. And they’re still bringing it full tilt. If anyone deserves $200 tickets it’s then over Janes and RHCP.

I read it. The worst part of the book was... the book.

Every single story was just "We just finished touring, so I locked myself in a hotel room for a month and did heroin. Eventually Flea came and got me, took me to rehab, and then when I got out we recorded the next album."

EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

So, I get a Bud Light, a box of Franzia, a view of 4 tube socks, a poster (because I'm 13 at heart), a concert ticket, and a backdrop to show off my lounge laminate in a photo to forever memorialize that I have completely lost my mind. :bored: :bs: :flip:

VIP tickets that do not include ANY band interaction or at least soundcheck access are absolutely wild to me. Then again, Flea refuses to take photos with fans and considers it the absolute height of rudeness to ask. I keep thinking I’ll grab some cheap lawn seats when they inevitably run some type of promo, but I don’t know that I care to see these guys at all anymore.

If asked politely, I don’t understand it one bit. It’s such an easy thing to do, and something that make someone feel really special to have and look back on.

I could tell several stories good and bad of musicians I’ve met and had these types of interactions with. And all of them have really stuck with me good and bad. Stone Gossard is a dick. Tori Amos will do anything for any fan. Etc. And 30 years after some of these interactions my memories of them are still strong. As are the feelings they invoked.

If I was ever in a position that someone cared enough to ask to take a picture with me, and did so politely? Fill that phone up fam.
