The second-to-most recent episode was the best in a long time. The most recent was also very good, although it's clearly leading back to the same old shit.

It was such a breath of fresh air to get out of that prison. To me, everything they do there seems like they're acting in a play. Brian on the road was a lot more interesting and realistic. The show hasn't been varied and realistic to me since the first season. After they fired the guy who spent years creating the show (Frank Darabont) and slashed the budget, it really went downhill.

I need to stop watching these shows.

Just like Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones, when they kill off a character that I really like, it wrecks my evening :nyrexall:

I had an inkling they were going to kill off Hershel, but I was really hoping they wouldn't. He was the best actor by a gigantic margin.

There's the dramatic impact and realism of losing someone you like, but at the same time...you've got to like somebody to care at all about the story.

They'd give you the line about "anyone could go at any time", but does anyone really think they'll be killing of Daryl anytime soon? :bs: Not to mention Rick or Carl.

To make matters worse, Hershel had really started to look like Santa Claus.

At least they won't be at the prison anymore.

Daryl? No. Not anytime soon anyway. But I thought for sure Carl was a goner in that last episode. Wouldn't be completely shocked if Rick died either and Daryl took his place at "main character."

yeah...thank god they killed baby judith.

by the way who names their kids carl and judith? does this take place in 1960?

i'm caught up. just in time for the season to start. i enjoy the conflict the humans have with humans. at this point the walkers are annoying and tiresome. every episode has the required zombie ambush.

To be fair Rick is a bitch. I was hoping that he was dead when he wasn't waking up.

I just watched it...agree Rick should have died. Way too much Carl for me. That kid is no a very good actor.

The episode was slow but I liked that we got to know a little more about Michonne. There was the changing roles between father and son...but the son came to realize he still needs his father.

i don't get the hate for rick. out of all the survivors he is the most interesting one left.

carl really annoys me though.

i liked rick in the beginning but he lost the ability to lead with some bad decisions he made. sure, he's been through a lot and has been troubled, but now i find myself not really caring about him anymore. :noclue:

The Walking Dead is like macaroni & cheese. It's just kind of there.

i think the show is a lot better when you marathon through them all like i did. watching it week to week seems to leave me a little disappointed. maybe it's just this season. :noclue:

I used to like it, and still continue to watch, but after a show like True Detective everything pales in comparison. Plus, Walking Dead recycles its tension. We've been here before, which can be fine, but something else needs to be going on.

It doesn't take TD to make it look bad. It's just middling (and often just plain bad) all on its own. It had great promise in the beginning, but that went out the window, probably largely because of the firing of the show's creator.

Once in a while it can be mildly entertaining, but most of the time it's just aimless and boring, with terrible acting, directing, cinematography, and writing. I can't even think of anyone on the show I consider a good actor since they killed off Hershel.

I watch it out of a lack of good Sunday shows and by force of habit.

Imagine if it had been an HBO show with a good showrunner. It might have been able to keep closer to the high quality of its pilot. The pilot is now a distant memory (except for creep, who marathoned it).

No wonder why AMC forced them to break up the last season of Mad Men into two smaller seasons. Since the end of Breaking Bad it's their only prestige show. After that they'll just have a dumb zombie show that makes a lot of money, but could really just as easily be on a major broadcast network.

I thought it was slightly better than usual. Well, aside from Daryl opening the door for a swarm of walkers.

The door you could see the heads through? WTF?? that was just dumb... as if you wouldn't have a little peek thru the slats of wood and see the heads then turn and go "Shhhhhh!!!!" and creep away slowly...
