When The Arts are Honored

#1 Post by SR » Fri Dec 08, 2023 4:32 pm

I'm crazy, but I think it's more important than ever...philosophy, literature, and music. Here's the Kennedy ceremony of a humble and beautiful artist. Please add any celebrations you think are great.

Great thread! Made me day after a long week.
This was a great tribute.
I've never seen the whole thing. I didn't know that Kid Rock did Ramble On...pretty good! Michelle Obama looked like she was enjoying it too.

Taylor Swift just recently was honored Time Magazine person of the year. Is that woman something or is she something? I mean she does over 40 songs in concert live and talked about how she prepared herself like an athlete for months beforehand to do so. i'm a little embarrassed I can't name 3 songs. On the other hand the rolling stones are back on tour. I've seen Mick perform in his 70's as most have he's another athlete running across the stage. Taylor is 33 Mick is 80 imagine doing it another 47 years i'm impressed by both.

Agreed.

Same with Joni Mitchell.
I thought the Grammy's did a good job in giving her all the reverence she deserves. I loved the clarity in her gorgoeous, unabashed aged voice. Even through the screen you could feel the respect from everyone on stage and those in the crowd. Her joyful smile at the end was everything.

Overall, I thought the show was pretty good this year. I didn't watch to the end because I couldn't take anymore of Myley Cyrus and her hair.
