Depeche Mode today announced the full North American leg of its upcoming Global Spirit Tour, a 28-date trek through the U.S. and Canada that put the synthpop vets in arenas and amphitheaters coast to coast from late August through late October.

The tour, in support of the band’s upcoming 14th studio album, Spirit, opens Aug. 23 in Salt Lake City and wraps up Oct. 27 in Edmonton, Canada. To date, the only cities getting multiple shows are New York and Los Angeles, with two apiece.

Pre-sales for the North American shows start March 6, and, as the band announced last week, fans are invited to register for the presale.depechemode.com, and then can help improve their place in line for the pre-sale by doing their part to promote the album release and tour.

Depeche Mode also is conducing pre-sales at 10 a.m. March 7 for Citi cardmembers and A&T customers. Follow those links for details. American Express cardmembers will get access to a pre-sale for the Hollywood Bowl dates at that same time, too.

Yeah, the new single isn't that great. I'm curious to hear the rest of the new album when it comes out.

I'll probably go to this concert.

I think I lost interest in Depeche Mode in 1993  I wish I hadn't but I never got into anything after Violator/Songs of.....to me they're an iconic "80's band".

I thought they were awesome at the EA lollapalooza. That's the only time I've seen them. They may have been the best that weekend.

Yep, they still bring it live from I hear. Last time I saw them was in 1993 with The The and the first time I saw them was in 1982 when I was 15! Now I'm 50! :yikes:

I've seen them 3 times in one year (two consecutive shows in my town and Coachella '06). I'm done with them for the rest of my life.

I made the mistake of seeing Kings of Leon instead. For me the best were: Arctic Monkeys, Lou Reed and of course Jane's.

Yeah, Lou Reed then EA Jane's was great. I was excited to see the Constantines and thought they were really good. My wife was super into Fleet Foxes. We all thought Tool was aweful, all 4 of us that made the trip had seen Tool a few years before and all thought the show was awesome but at lolla it just wasn't good. And Pete on the kid's stage was cool, all I remember was him doing 1970 by the Stooges and I think he sang "all night, children's songs, hey...I feel all right" instead of all night, til I blow, away...I feel all right

I saw Tool at Coachella. I've never been their fan but I'm glad I saw them. I had a lot of fun. I was at the kid's stage, too. Although I didn't stay for Pete's show. Just said hi to some people from xiola.org and had to go to see The Raveonnettes instead because the friends I went with wanted to see them.

Got tickets today- yay!

I signed up for the fan pre-sale to receive an access code and booking time. I was #3064 in the queue for the Toronto show and my booking time was 1pm(ET). I got decent tickets in the second price range($99) in about 10 minutes.
