A gift of The Cure @ Festivus time

As you may or may not know, I am a big fan of The Cure. When Trev from this board went to, taped and shared with me the Montreal show of The Cure 2016 tour I was over the moon. The fact he took time to share his tape with me (which in turn I shared with the rest of the world (via http://www.dimeadozen.org and http://thecurecommunity.freeforums.net/ ) ) blew my mind and I appreciated his generosity immensely. As paying money for bootlegs is bad, the only way that made sense to me to repay him was to give him a few The Cure tapes from the collection I've amassed over the years. I tried to pick the best shows, in terms of sound quality, set list variety and "importance" in The Cure's history, from each tour and have been uploading these for the last few months.

I thought that I would share these with you all in the hope that you can get some enjoyment out of them.

Some stuff and things:
There are 124 shows spanning each year the band played shows from 1979 to 2016 taking up ~90Gb of space.
Most of the shows are listed with taper/source and format such as The Cure YYYY-MM-DD Venue &/or location [Source/taper initials][Format]

Some years have lots of shows, some have only a few. Some shows were chosen for their importance in The Cure history (such as the MTV Unplugged show).

Most of the files are in FLAC format but where I don't have them in FLAC, MP3 files ets have been uploaded.

Given that the files are uploaded to mega.nz I would suggest downloading one show at a time as sometimes trying to download multiple file sets at once causes problems with broken or incomplete downloads. There's no need to download the mega.nz download manager, just grab them via your browser. Apparently there's an issue with Safari on MACs and mega.nz - maybe try Chrome for MAC?

I will not remove the files from the mega.nz server, so take your time. Or don't. Whatever

You can play the tracks on VLC.

If you choose to share these around, please don't distribute the FLACs in MP3 format - try to keep the integrity of the files. Share far and wide if you want. Do not ever sell these.

The Toronto Curiosa 2004 show! Coooooool! Probably the coolest thing about that show was seeing Muse when they were very new, on the 2nd stage, from about a foot away. Blew me away (and I hated their sound on the album).

It didn't take long at all. In fact, it was pretty instantaneous. What I was saying is that that was my first time seeing them live, and that's when I fully realized it.

Discography rundown:
1979 - Three Imaginary Boys - Some pop moments of genius with twinges of what you'll hear years down the track in terms of obliqueness and starkness. TIB was released as Boys Don't Cry in the USA in 1980 with some added singles (Jumping Someone Else's Train and Boys Don't Cry). 3 piece band
1980 - Seventeen Seconds - some, including RS say this is the first real Cure album. A stark and beautiful record. 4 piece band
1981 - Faith further down the spiral into grey sounds and pain. 3 piece band
1982 - Pornography - even further down the spiral hitting rock bottom (not in quality, in feelings). They essentially broke up after the tour. 3 piece band
1983 - Japanese Whispers - Not an album as such, but a collection of pop singles. 2 to 3 piece
1984 - The Top - pretty much a solo record by RS. A lot of drug use shines thru. 1 or 5 piece depending on your view...
1985 - The Head On The Door. For a lot of fans, a return to form. Gorgeous album. 5 piece band
1986 - Standing on a Beach - singles collection. Cassette version contains all the b-sides. Amazing!
1987 - Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me - A double album that seems like a natural progression from THOTD - sprawling, winding touching all manner of topics and genres. Just great. 5 piece band, 6 for tour.
1989 - Disintegration - what most fans feel is the pinnacle of The Cure's career. Certainly a fantastic record. 6/5 piece. Lol Tolhurst left the band during this time. Huge world tour.
1990 - Mixed Up - remixes of a dozen songs.
1992 - Wish - my fave record. Does it get any better than Open ? Lyrically and musically... Huge world tour again. 5 piece band
1996 - Wild Mood Swings. Some say the ugly cousin to Wish. 3-5 piece band while rebuilding the band.
1997 - Galore. Singles collection from 1987 - 1997
2000 - Bloodflowers - RS says this is the culmination of "The Dark Trilogy of Pornography, Disintegration & Bloodflowers" 5 piece band
2001 - Greatest Hits - Second CD had "Acoustic Hits" rad. 5 piece band
2004 - The Cure - A strange record mostly recorded live as a band. Some stellar tracks on there but it was derailed. Thanks Ross Robinson.... 5 piece band
2008 - 4:13 Dream. The return of Porl Thompson, loss of keyboards and a new 4 piece version of the band.
