The most Canadian singer isn't Gord Downie of the Hip though. It's Stompin' Tom, who's been dead for a few years. He was our CanCon Johnny Cash.

While most Canadians were somewhere watching the Tragically Hip show Saturday night, Blue Rodeo played Toronto and honoured the band with a cover of "Bobcaygeon".

It's a very strange place -- halfway between Toronto and Ottawa/Montreal, near the NY border. A university town with the highest per capita rate of PhD residents in the country, our former capital city... extremely white -- it would be a hick town -- it is -- without the three colleges. But that somehow makes it interesting. There's not a lot to do there other than think and drink -- that's what I did. :hehe:
