So the new Tom Morello band that's basically Rage Against The Machine (or Audioslave) minus Zack but with Chuck D, B-Real, and DJ Lord is playing their live debut tonight in Hollywood at The Whiskey. Tickets can only be picked up at the box office.

Seems lame, not trying to be a negative nancy. Why reference your old band in the new name? Like Velvet Revolver, I get it...revolver=gun.....velvet and rose.....same type of shit. Move on! Oh no..The Prophets of Rages can't stand on the sideline of history......but Zach can.....and this is all marketing.

Prophets of Rage was a Public Enemy song.

Chuck D of public enemy is in the band.

Tom, Tim, and Brad were in Rage Against the Machine.

Sounds to me like they chose the perfect name for the combination of their 2 acts since they are playing RATM and PE material. :noclue:

Weiland named that. Not the GNR guys.

Velvet Underground + The Beatles Revolver = Velvet Revolver

From what I've heard and seen, it didn't sound very impressive. They basically played all RATM/PE and Cypress Hill covers and for most of the PE/CH songs, it was to pre-recorded backing tracks while the Rage guys took a break. I think they're playing a Hollywood Palladium show Friday as well.
