No, found out at the venue that someone in Wolfgang's band (or team) tested positive for Covid so there was no opener.... :/

Put on a good show in Missoula.

Same exact setlist as 2016, but a smaller venue so that was worth the ticket price.

New song was lackluster, but allowed fans time to jump back into the beer line. ;)
I have tickets for the Indy show but am hesitant. I'm vaccinated but I've had several friends with really nasty breakthrough infections. My youngest son isn't old enough to be vaccinated. I don't want to get him sick.

Was it a packed house? I keep wondering if there are enough empty seats in the nosebleeds to avoid getting breathed on.

There was definitely room in the nosebleeds, felt pretty spacious there.

The masses of unwashed humanity in the stadium walkways were pretty intense though. I haven't been that crammed in for a long while....that felt pretty gross. If you got there early and left late though, I found the seating was comfortable (at least in MN, not sure how full IL would be)?

why go? you wouldn't have gone a couple of years back would you? well, stupid question I guess, only one answer: Slash is back and you love him. Can't believe that GNR can now play stadiums for years because that guy is back, fuckin dumb, it doesnt really make that big of a difference in their sound does it

When I saw them 2/3 years ago, slash was the (only?) highlight of the band ....

This is kind of "GnR Live Era" part 2 with the Illusion albums included. In fact, a few of the recordings originally appeared on that live collection.

The more I look at this release, the more it shapes up to be a huge blown opportunity. No unreleased studio tracks, demos, etc, no Hi-Res and/or Surround mix of the albums (which was done but *someone* rejected), substituting a new live orchestra recording of November Rain while omitting the original version from the album proper, making numerous live tracks exclusive to either the Super Deluxe or Deluxe versions of the albums and finally the outrageous price tag on the Super Deluxe releases. Pretty much the 1991 Ritz show Blu-ray with Izzy still in the band in pro quality is the only thing that makes this interesting.

It's like they learned nothing from the giant, overpriced AFD box sets that wound up being heavily discounted when they didn't sell.

The price is ridiculous of course. 500 € for the vinyl, 250 for the cd's (who's buying cd's these days?) I'm sure the songs from the live album will be available elsewhere.

Other than that, I'd rather have a nice sounding live show than some demo versions of songs. I'd rather listen to Nothing's Shocking than Song List, listened to all the Appetite demo's only once etc ...

Most of the remastered Appetite sounds really good, an upgrade from the original. But on the last songs on each of the sides of the vinyl the vocals sound a bit distorted. I don't understand how that got past quality control, certainly if you consider that there one of the sides is etched. So they could have spread the tracks a bit more ...

It's because GnR like a ton of artists lost their masters in a fire years ago... :nyrexall:

I never heard that Guns N’ Roses was included in that list? .They said that most of the major releases were covered by safety copies? But I think lots of original analog tapes dating way back are lost!! ..Including Nirvana? Maybe Soundgarden? ..Along with some other really golden oldies!! 🥲 ..The issue with Guns is probably a Hot pressing for vinyl tho? ..I’ve heard the target red and others were pressed and mastered really hot? ..Making cheap cheesy turntables skip and jump?.. A similar thing happened when Led Zeppelin II came out originally.. Bob Ludwig cut that way too hot for cheap turntables and they couldn’t hang!!! Coincidentally, Those are now the most coveted holy grail versions you can get because they sound fabulous on a nice turntable!! ..Anyway https://www.rollingstone.com/music/musi ... 52850/amp/

It's not hot, it's distorted. Most of the songs are fine, just on the last song on every side the vocale are distorted in places.

I don't have a cheap turntable, on the contrary.

I have a Robert Ludwig LZ II pressing, that one sounds killer

Guns' AFD was one of the best sounding rock albums of the 80's. The production is excellent and still holds up to this day. It's like AC/DC's Back In Black, it never needed any sort of remastering. The problem is (or was) there's too much music for a single LP which back in the day, made the CD the best sounding option for listening. That said, even the original LP does sound great despite the limitations. The reason why the recent 2 LP reissue(s) has problems is two-fold - they are not using the original analog multi-track master tapes (it was a digital backup) but more importantly, the 2 LP version with the hologram etching on side 4 was pressed at GZ Vinyl in the Czech Republic who have a long history of sub-standard pressings including excessive inner groove distortion.

Don't agree with you Panda ....

The recent remaster has way more punch and detail than the original...

Are you listening to a vinyl release or a digital (CD, download) release?

I will say the Hi-Res release from the box sets' Blu-ray sounds pretty awesome.
