Ok, I'll check it. The trailer won't play on your link citing copyright issues.

Maybe try this?

There are a few episodes on Dailymotion, but not all of them. I had to resource to Torrents to get the full 8 episodes ....

Just finished Road Diary...the Springsteen doc on Hulu. He's God. Read his autobiography a decade ago and it was the best one I have ever read. Just the standard in every way.

Fleetwood Mac doc on the way. Shame Chrissie can't be part of it. Maybe Lyndsey will bitch about Mick's incompetence while bitching about Stevie's tendency to never shut up.

I really enjoyed Return of the King: The Fall and Rise of Elvis Presley. Worth a watch, even if you're not an Elvis fan.

The info presented about Elvis in the beginning of the doc is common knowledge and nothing that hasn't already been said before. I was thinking this is going to be "meh". Instead of going the tragic figure route the doc celebrates the greatness and magnetism that Elvis had.
Overall, I thought it was done very well and respectful. Younger people don't know Elvis' importance in culture and music and the impact on a worldwide scale.

(I was hoping that this year for JA was going to be the equivalent of the 68 Comeback Special.)

I've seen this while scrolling in Netflix. Something about Elvis that makes me recoil. Creepy courtship with Pricilla and his management. But I'll watch it and likely enjoy it.

Agree with you about Priscilla; she was 14 when they met. Makes me think of a couple of other rock musicians who had a penchant for really young girls- Bill Wyman, Jimmy Page.

I'm actually looking forward to this even though I'm a lot younger than their fan base in their hey day

Sly Lives! is streaming now. Questlove's 2nd doc. It's great or I wouldn't post. Dude was writing love letters to society when there was open hatred between black and white.....meaningful commentary from Vernon Reid and Andre 3000 (and some from George Clinton)

A few weeks ago I watched the Phil Collins documentary "Drummer First"

It's on Youtube for free.

He's looking a little frail these days, but it was nice seeing the man get his due.

Saw that. Agreed on his due. Was always bummed Chester Thompson was never formally a member as he really wanted it (and deserved it). Went on a bit of a Genesis jag and he was always a gracious drummer with Phil....on all the live ABACAB extended outros, he pulls back hard when Phil sits in.

Has anyone seen the Sylvain Sylvain documentary/tribute? I wanted to see that but my dad died around the same time and I wasn't in any state to follow it up. Personality Crisis, the Johansen/Scorcese documentary, is obviously great.

With all due respect to JA, the New York Dolls are America's greatest band.
