That's not how any of this works.
Yeah, I know...I could reciprocate with another show or a fancy dinner. But that's it
I just read the first presale day was sold out in 15 minutes. The fuck I'm going to even try to get a ticket. The only time I was able to get a decent one, was when I suscribed to the U2 fan club for their presale.
If they had done it like the Chili Peppers (didn't have to pay anything to get into their presale), I would have tried. I'm fucking old for this shit.
U2 traditionally does ticket drops (at least here in the US) for really good seats and the general admission floor during the last few days before show dates even for shows that show as "sold out" for months in advance.
I'll keep this in mind. Thanks!

I'm sure it's going to be fucking awesome!!

Hours before the Seattle show, General Admission seats dropped to around $60. I couldn't convince my wife or daughter to go with me. So, I didn't. I don't think these were tix U2 dropped. They were just reseller tix that weren't going to sell at all, I think.

They opened a second date (Oct. 4th). Fifty bucks for U2.com subscription and presale is from Fri-Sun this week. I'm still debating, I like U2 and I think I'm going to regret it like when I missed The Police reunion. I enjoyed their show at Bonnaroo, but it wasn't the Joshua Tree set.

U2 added a Phoenix date.

I pretty much don't care about seeing them again (I saw them on the Elevation tour, it was ok, but nothing I need to see again), but BECK is opening, and I DO want to see him.

So i'll probably get tickets just for Beck.

Why would you pay so much just to see Beck in a huge venue when you could catch him some place small down the road?

Not everyone lives in Southern California where every band/musician will eventually play a show. I guess you have to see them when you can. :noclue:

Go for floor GA. At least you'll have a chance to get within the same time zone as the stage.

A couple of vids from the Toronto show last night. I wasn't there...this is some fan footage.

During Bad , Bono blends Leonard's Cohen's Suzanne. Looks pretty cool when everybody lights up their phones.

Bono without glasses!

Because he currently doesn't have any shows booked at some small place down the road.

It wasn't a priority till now. He played a festival here last year, but I was out of town that week. Phoenix is in a weird area where most bands typically opt to go from Los Angeles to Vegas to Texas (or vice versa) and we get skipped a lot.

I'm taking my opportunity while I can.

Right on, enjoy! Figured it being a college town meant you were in heavy tour rotation...my bad...im probably just jaded like creep said living in LA and seeing Beck whenever for 5 bucks way back when

U2 finally announced the upcoming release of their new album and premiered a new song "The Blackout" on their facebook page. It's not bad, but I need to give it a few more listens. I will say, when I first heard the opening few seconds of the song, I honestly thought I was hearing a new Sgt Sanders "(name of guitarist) Shreds" YouTube parody clip with the dubbed in generic fake crowd noise and dissonant music.

I liked the first few seconds but then it got weird and kinda awful. I'm not really a u2 fan so maybe I'm missing something but that is a bad pop song.

And I hate the video with the fake crowd enthusiasm and fake crowd noise.

Another new song. They should call this album "Sounds Of Creative Bankruptcy." They've completely lost the plot.

I thought this was better than the previous one, but still terrible. The verse wasn't so bad, but the pre-chorus and chorus are just so oddly produced.

And the awkward drums on the chorus... fuck.

And that fucking standard U2 bridge... awful.

And the lyrics... boy oh boy.
