I have no idea. Sounds appropriately gothic in a German sorta way though.

Could it be that you just really liked the way it was integrated into the movie?

it is one of my favorite movies so your theory could be true. But trying to be objective for a second as if I'm hearing it for the first time, I think this Terje guy's phrasing is very beautiful and moving

I just thought that was an especially strong statement, and I imagined all of the competition.
Is he the same guy who plays on other Michael Mann stuff like Miami Vice (the series)? I seem to recall a lot of guitar like that on that show.

I'd be really surprised if he has scored Miami Vice, it would seem like a job for a main stream Steve Stevens type player in my mind. This guy fits better in a dark, artsy type univers Like the Heat score or in a David Lynch production or something like that

yeah I knew about that. If you compare the classic diner scene in Heat to the one in LA Takedown it's comedy gold. Such bad acting compared to Pacino and De Niro
that's a Norweigan poster you got there by the way

I guess a lot of people go to that diner and ask to sit at that same table from Heat.

Did my once-in-a-while trip to Amoeba Records in Hollywood today. Didn't have anything I was actually looking for so all I walked out with was Thin Lizzy's "Thunder and Lightning" 2 cd remaster, the "Ed Wood" movie soundtrack and The Cure's "Connect The Dots" box set ($25!).
Speaking of The Cure, I'm slowly but surely digging into the band and have the deluxe cd releases of Pornography and Disintegration as well as the self-titled '04 album (which I don't care for). I really like the sound they were mining, especially the harder, darker bass/drum-heavy stuff on Pornography and am looking to pick up KMKMKM, Wish or Faith next. Anyone got any suggestions what my next buy should be?

All of those are great, but I will say, go with Faith next. The Cure was one of my fave bands in high school(81/82 - 85/86) and Faith was in heavy rotation. I like the early albums the most.
A couple of my fave tracks...

Killing Joke's my number 1.
U2's gonna have to pull a really amazing album outta their ass this year to get back in my top 5 band list.
