Now Playing...
Re: Now Playing...
the guitar player on this album is sublime, he's on the same level as Dave in 91 or something, almost anyway.

Re: Now Playing...
i miss my porta 5 soo much lol
Re: Now Playing...
Yeah its weird since I built my studio here I have been using my old 4 track more and more then bringing the ideas in there and then deciding that I want to record guitar parts thru the 4 track into the Neve shit. Needs to have that 4am in your buddy's living room sound.kv wrote:i miss my porta 5 soo much lol
Re: Now Playing...
i pulled mine out it was a porta 7 i think my porta 5 was the one that burst into flames at 4am in my living room lolJuana wrote:Yeah its weird since I built my studio here I have been using my old 4 track more and more then bringing the ideas in there and then deciding that I want to record guitar parts thru the 4 track into the Neve shit. ya it was sooo much easier then....only would punch the very rare thing...instead you'd play that song over and over and over until it was perfect (or close enough) i also fucking hate playing on electronic drums now and through monitors...miss my ears ringing like crazy...miss never having to dial in my rum sound...when i sat down they were ready lol...tech sucks!
Re: Now Playing...
Remember the King..
Re: Now Playing...
Yeah I hear you on that, I also think that is why I'm not liking some of the newer rock bands because like you said on those older machines you had to be ready to put it to tape when you recorded it. I like fucking around on Garage band here and there but honestly nothing like old analog stuff for recording.kv wrote:i pulled mine out it was a porta 7 i think my porta 5 was the one that burst into flames at 4am in my living room lolJuana wrote:Yeah its weird since I built my studio here I have been using my old 4 track more and more then bringing the ideas in there and then deciding that I want to record guitar parts thru the 4 track into the Neve shit. Love this tune!
Re: Now Playing...
Check out the Roots Manuva Meets Wrong Tom album "Duppy Writer" basically some of his songs re-imagined. One of my favorite records.Artemis wrote:Love this tune!

listened to the happy mondays cd pills 'n' thrills and bellyaches on the ride into work this morning, that cd is great top to bottom.
Re: Now Playing...
Agreed. Have you listened to any Black Grape stuff? Late 90's, not as "trippy" as the Mondays but still good.LJF wrote:listened to the happy mondays cd pills 'n' thrills and bellyaches on the ride into work this morning, that cd is great top to bottom.
Re: Now Playing...
Is anyone else madly in love with Susanna Hoffs? I mean, still.
Re: Now Playing...
Yes, I also really like them. I saw them in concert, it was a good show from what I remember. Never got to see Happy Mondays.Bandit72 wrote:Agreed. Have you listened to any Black Grape stuff?
