Mexico
Mexico
I am putting in a letter of intent with this guy,
http://www.amazon.com/Mod-Mex-Cooking-V ... 0740768654
For a restaurant in manhattan beach. This thread is for anything Mexico....art, music, food, drink, etc....
I, personally, am looking for restaurant names in Spanish. Words that pertain to family, togetherness, virtue, sustenance, conviction, etc. Perk, Larry, anyone??

Bendejo = pendejo?SR wrote:Bendejo's

I don't know what offal is, but I love tripe and intestines. I like tongue as long as I don't have to see it before eating it. I love maguey worms and ants' eggsSR wrote:offal will be on the menumockbee wrote:"Ganas!"

I like crickets too, but I still have issues seeing them before eating them
Re: Mexico
What kind of liquor will you be serving?
Re: Mexico
They have lengua, cabeza and tripas at the taco truck I go to. I can never bring myself to order them because I like the al pastor, carnitas, asada, chorizo or mole that I usually get.
Re: Mexico
How about Loco Lengua?
Crazy Tongue.

Yes, see now my reason for the thread?perkana wrote:Bendejo = pendejo?SR wrote:Bendejo's
Re: Mexico
Full liquor licence....one of the real assets in the deal....full tequila/mescals....full bar.....wines, focussed on Spain and Italy with the usual suspects in Cali. Will apply for Grand Award. I know the formula.perkana wrote:What kind of liquor will you be serving?
Re: Mexico
It's a great effin name for sure, but inconsistent with the brand we are looking for.....maybe after a massive success and subsequent food trucks or fixed taqueriasArtemis wrote:How about Loco Lengua?

Hmmmm....ok, so I guess my first attempt at a name wasn't that good. It would be funny if it was called Pendejo's but you all know what it means over there
México lindo y querido...Pásele a lo barrido. I just think of stuff no one would get over there, just Mexicans
Magueyes (where the tequila comes from and it's a very typical plant that everybody knows comes from here, and I like how it looks like )
I would even try to play around with the titles of very famous Mexican songs...I should be working, but this is so much fun
Re: Mexico
And appreciated. The link I put up is from a friend well versed in the culture with R&D trips (multiple) to the country. I'll forage for ideas everywhere! Re: Mexico
This thread reminds me of one of my fave Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn called Dynasty...one of the only two neighborhood spots where I've actually seen Chinese people eating there, but the kicker is that they have a mexican guy who speaks to the customers and then gives the orders on the microphone to the kitchen...in Chinese...
Pariguayo is a fave of mine...I know its an insult but have no clue of the actual translation, it just sounds cool and I saw it get some strong reactions...

Re: Mexico
I've always liked El Chupacabras I'll try to play around with some names later. But I do like Pásele a lo barrido...it's like a phrase you use to welcome someone to your house.
Ok, an obvious choice...Sabor a mí (a song title)

Good luck...if you do end up somewhere on the east coast, North White Plains in Westchester is a great area with a LOT of nice spots popping up...SR wrote:Our will be the fouth bid tomorrow.
