Girls (HBO)

Is no one here watching this show? I'm only 6 episodes in to season 1 but I am blown away by it. I'm dying to get him home and have another mini marathon to finish out the season.

I couldn't recommend it any higher (to both girls AND boys ). Great writing and I suspect speaks to the type of people that post here.

Produced by Judd Apatow.

It can be a little hipster-ish, but not too bad.

I already have two new songs I have been listening to on constant repeat after hearing them in the show (Harper Simon "More Wishes than Stars", and The Echo Friendly "Same Mistakes", and two other songs I heard were already absolute favorites of mine (LCD Soundsystem "I Can Change" and Robyn "Dancing on my Own".

If you watch it, no spoilers past ep 6 please.

it took me about three episodes to get in to it. i don't love it but i guess i enjoy it. the girl that writes and stars in it is naked too much and her parents didn't have to be naked.

i can't really spoil anything for you because i can't remember what happened. as far as the new hbo shows i liked veep the best. you should check that out if you haven't seen it.

I really cant stand Julia Louis Dreyfuss (or whatever her name is) for some reason, so I've avoided it.

I didn't love Girls at first, but I've realized all day how it's kind of stuck with me.

i've had a few people tell me that they can't stand her so they don't watch it. she is actually really good in it. with all the political stuff you would probably enjoy it. :noclue:

I just watched all of season 1 this past weekend. The epsidoes are short, like 30 minutes.

I was able to view without downloading anything from this site:

http://www.movie2k.to/tvshows-season-Girls.html

It took a few episodes for me to get into it as well. Inititially I couldn't stand the character Hannah, but I have warmed up to her.

I don't want to spoil it for you, but I loved season 1's end. At first I didn't know what the heck it was about, but I seriously have developed a huge crush on Adam Driver. Plus, it was great seeing James LeGros too

I finished S1. Just need to watch the 1st episode of S2 now and I'm all caught up. Yeah they make you kind of hate Adam at first but then they really start to flesh him out as a character and you become much more sympathetic towards him. Really like the character a lot.

I've maybe been forced to watch an episode or 2 or Sex in the City, so maybe I'm not the best to speak on this. I suppose I see similarities but the women featured in this show are obviously from completely different planets than the women in Sex and the City. I suppose you could call it the hipster version of it but I think this show is much deeper, much more well written, and certainly more relatable for people that grew up on "alt-culture."

I don't know. It almost seems like a knock against Girls to compare it to Sex in the City, no matter how much you may like the latter.

I love the episode when Hannah runs into him at a party and then goes on a bike ride with him. And he's like "Do you want me to be your boyfriend? just say it so" And next scene they are all crammed in a cab, bike and all

And the way she starts smiling and then it cuts to the credits. That was a really cute scene.

That whole warehouse party episode was great. From the crusty punks to the crack incident.

i read that there were complaints there there were no minorities in the show so of course on the first episode of season 2 she had sex with a black guy.

Lena Dunham was on Jon Stewart last night; she was endearing.

Her and her "friends" on the show remind me so much of all the girls I hung out with late teens/early twenties.
