Perry Farrell's Satellite Party

#1 Post by teresaunseen » Sun May 27, 2012 5:49 pm

I hope I am not opening up some sort of can of worms up on this one, but does anyone like Satellite Party? I do, I think that album sounds awesome. Please don't bludgeon me...I was just wondering if anyone out there likes the album besides me...LOL.

:noclue:

Hard Life Easy's a cool song. If Flea and Froosh were full-time members, (and Perry stepped up the lyrics a bit) that would've been an amazing band. As it is, some decent songs, but overall just a footnote. I've got half the album in my iTunes and don't mind when they pop up on shuffle.

It really was a struggle to listen through each song to the end without skipping to the next track.

I was really into the 30 second clips of Milky Ave and Hard Life Easy that they leaked before the cd. But the whole songs didn't sound as good.
And I liked Woman in the Window which obv wasn't them.

I saw them in concert in 07 and it was my first time seeing Perry so I was happy.

This.

The funny thing is Hard Life was written with Flea and Froosh and Pete wrote Milky Ave, which is probably they're the only halfway decent tracks on the album.

They weren't terrible when I saw them at Lollapalooza 2005. Tony Kanal was on bass and Nuno was on guitar and it pretty much rocked.

I mean, Perry's teal blouse was a little gay but he didn't manage to ruin the music too much. And the fact that he had them on at like 4pm was a good idea since they would have gotten laughed off the stage had he let them headline.

But the album.... yikes. Lyrically it's just fucking garbage.

I never listened to the album, watched some performances on ytube and that's it. :banghead: :balls:
The cover needs to be included in the "Worst album covers of all time" list.

BTW is the video for I like em big somewhere to be found? My hubby wants to watch it....

I don't mind the album, I just don't take it seriously at all. I think there are some cool sonic soundscapes to be found on it in certain areas. I haven't sold it yet and don't plan to. I dig it.

i can watch it without an account. maybe it's just an overseas thing.

some of the comments make me laugh.
Quite possibly the most apalling song I have ever heard in my life. Unthinkable that the former frontman of JA has been reduced to this.
I taste vomit in my mouth watching this.
Champagne and whores, and Perry's wife too . . .
depressing.. this pretty sums up everything that is wrong in the world
watching this video is kind of like having your dog lick you after munching on a giant pile of runny diarrhea - it hurts that much more because it's coming from someone you love(d).

It's quite a sad attempt. You must be young. These guys are being nice to you. I remember one_percent bored and xiola. You would have been butchered there. You should check out polar bear, deconconstruction, porno for pyros, Eric avery solo album: help wanted, even the jubilee album by Perry farrell. I have been a hardcore fan since the early nineties when I was around 11-15. And really to me nothing compares to the early janes stuff up to deconstruction, porno for pyros, and polar bear.
