I feel like I'm missing something here. A bunch of people in line at the Arcade Fire show were talking about Mumford and Sons, so it peaked my interest. But I they don't do anything for me.

They don't do anything for me either. Their music is innocuous energetic alternapop but they are really popular right now. Ain't that America.

I've also been listening to The Sound's first album Jeopardy a lot lately.
Live video for Missiles with earnest rant about the cold war.
Who the hell makes those missiles? When they know what they can do?

This is what Strays should have been as a come back album. The Bad Brains came back on this album and it stood up to their old stuff.

Merci! I haven't heard that one for a long time. I used to think it was a Stones song..cuz his voice sorta sounds like Mick's a bit.
Here's one where van is some falsetto.Reminds me a bit of Beck crossed with Prince.

I love it! I think I'm going to have to get into the VM back catalogue. Obviously I'm missing a lot.

One of my faves is The Philosopher's Stone. It's 2 CDs(30 songs) of unreleased outakes and rarities from 1969-1988.
Try For Sleep is another track from that compilation where he's experimenting with the falsetto voice.

Very much agree. While I wish HR had been a little more cognoscente on the album, it was a definite return to form.
Few rhythm sections are as tight as Earl and Daryl.

Yeah HR was a bit off on the album but he has always been a little flaky like that. Been listening to "Rock For Light" a lot more lately. Love that album.
