Adam scares me...they are turning him into creepy stalker guy.
But he deserves what he gets, he treats Hanna like shit and now that she realized it....he wants her.
for all you out of town folks, Hanna's job at "Cafe Grumpy" is a real chain of coffee houses in NY. This show will do to Cafe Grumpy what Sex and the city did to Magnolia Bakery.

I think they've done well showing him in several lights. Mean, creepy, and yet sympathetic. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think his character is meant to be scary. I think Hanna was supposed to be seen as overreacting to him being silly and then very stubborn yes, if not a bit over the line. He was intentionally distant to her which in typical fashion made her pursue him "like the Beatles", then when he buys in she is no longer interested. I think it's a very honest portrayal of how that scenario often plays out.Romeo wrote:Adam scares me...they are turning him into creepy stalker guy.

I think he has the most nuance as a character and is the best actor on the show.
Re: Girls (HBO)
no my favorite character is probably Jessa. Because we all (well me or maybe girls in general) have had those very cool free spirit friends that fly by the seat of their pants that you're always a little jealous of....
This impromptu wedding of hers will be interesting!

Re: Girls (HBO)
I like her a lot too. I hope she divorces that dude real quick like and gets back how she is. It's odd how she is the free spirit and then they marry her off in a really odd way.Romeo wrote:no my favorite character is probably Jessa. Re: Girls (HBO)
OH I am sure a story is developing there!!!! And it'll be goooood!
Re: Girls (HBO)
I would sure hope so. With the show still being in it's infancy though I don't know if I can be too optimistic about where any of the storylines will go though. Pretty lame if they don't get her back in action sooner than later.Romeo wrote:OH I am sure a story is developing there!!!! And it'll be goooood!
Re: Girls (HBO)
My least favorite character has always been Hannah...I love Shoshanna. And Jessa has always been a little bit over the top for my taste, but I think I like her a bit more after marrying Chris O'Dowd's character
Re: Girls (HBO)
OH they have to, I mean he was the lecherous guy in season one that she & Marnie made out in front of...plus her wanderlust & love of sex with numerous partners.....
This quicky surprise marriage will not last

I like Marnie more this season, she was a total bitch in the last one

I don't know, hope it's fun while it lastsRomeo wrote: This quicky surprise marriage will not last

But Hannah is the perfect atypical 20 something.....perkana wrote:My least favorite character has always been Hannah...I love Shoshanna. And Jessa has always been a little bit over the top for my taste, but I think I like her a bit more after marrying Chris O'Dowd's character
not a bad person, she has good intentions but so self involved & entitled. She is a a perfect amalgamation of a Greenpoint/Williamsburg 20 something hipster.
Like her not understanding and thinking her Parents were unreasonable when they stopped monetarily supporting her.
Re: Girls (HBO)
I think it's more because I do like Adam
Re: Girls (HBO)
Welp, just me and the ladies in here.
Re: Girls (HBO)
I'm trying to convert more guys...It's hard cause I think none of my friends watch it.
Re: Girls (HBO)
What?? You don't like being the only cock in the hen house??hokahey wrote:Welp, just me and the ladies in here.

Re: Girls (HBO)
I don't know why, but I like it that you like it. P.S. Just found out my brother is a fan too, that doesn't amaze me
Re: Girls (HBO)
I think it'll be one of those shows that guys like but they won't admit it.
For example, a friend's husband LOVED watching the Gilmore Girls and was totally hooked on it.

Re: Girls (HBO)
I'm glad you brought that up, GG was one of my guilty pleasure shows and my brother got hooked on it one time he was visiting. So that's why I'm not surprised that he likes this show too
Re: Girls (HBO)

Re: Girls (HBO)
that song they dance to in the club, "I love it" by Icona Pop came on the radio this summer as I dropped my folks off at the airport, then house-sat for them for a week. good memories.
I liked the episode, though I do get a bit squeamish watching people be all coked up.

Re: Girls (HBO)
Definitely my favorite episode yet. Booth Jonathan needs to be on more often. I loved his line last season "I may scare you a little, because I'm a man and I know how to do things." Then this season we see those things are...odd. Still, dude got swagger.
For some reason the coke scenes didnt bother me. I guess I'm far enough removed from those days. They were hilarious though.

Re: Girls (HBO)
I hate it that I'm one episode behind...but I'm so lucking forward to this one.
Re: Girls (HBO)
yea the coke scenes didn't bother me because maybe I saw it as that wide eyed, first coke experience and not the I'm a junkie doing coke experience.
And in the club when Hannah left Elijah to go dance on the dance floor & he realized she was gone and said to the people next to him "Where did you put Hannah???" SO F'N funny!
But that "installation" of Jonathan's with the TV's creeped me out. And if I couldn't stand that song "Barely Breathing" before...now that song will just creep me out.
