Republican Debate - August 6th
Re: Republican Debate - August 6th
HW Bush I worked for Planned Parenthood during his 1 term, didn't get a raise for 3 years because of cut funds
GW Bush I lost 50G's from a money market account when the stock market crashed which I couldn't recover. He literally broke me.
If Jeb gets elected you might as well take out a gun and shoot me. I couldn't imagine what another Bush would do to me finacially

Agreed. It will be terrible. Not just for you, but for the millions of young and poor and indebted people...Romeo wrote:HW Bush I worked for Planned Parenthood during his 1 term, didn't get a raise for 3 years because of cut funds

Fox News’s telecast of Thursday night’s Republican debate drew 23.9 million viewers, making it the highest-rated program ever for Fox News and among the most-viewed events in cable TV history.
The debate smashed previous records for primary debates and is the ninth-most-viewed cable program ever, according to Nielsen. The top eight were college football games broadcast on ESPN.
The raucous debate featured 10 presidential candidates, with Donald J. Trump, the Republican candidate leading in the polls, drawing the most airtime and providing some of the night’s most memorable moments. The Fox News moderators, Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly and Bret Baier, were pointed in their questions and drew praise for the performance, helping to lead the way for two hours of spirited television.
Thursday’s debate significantly beat the viewership of the first Republican debate in 2011, which drew 3.2 million viewers.
Wooooooooooooooow..............!
Well..........people are paying attention............ i don't know if that is a good or a bad thing.

.........what took them so long?
Republican party is severely divided and screwed.
Poll numbers after this will be very illuminating....... not for who is likely to win, but what the hell will Americans put up with? If Trump is still leading Fox and the establishment is a rudderless ship, like a Titanic sized rudderless ship. That's what happens when you have people at the helm who could care less about facts and reasoned debate. Not saying the "liberal" media is the gold standard, but this has been a long time in coming.
Hillary Clinton is your next US President.

Re: Republican Debate - August 6th
why aren't those poll numbers out long ago, like 8 hours after the debate... in this day and age it seems weird

Not if Fox doesn't like the poll numbers........?
I don't know, that's what I was thinking as well.
Re: Republican Debate - August 6th
what do you mean? I'm pretty sure Fox haven't monopolized polling

Polls don't happen everyday.
And if there was immediate polling taking place, it would have most likely been done by Fox in conjunction with the debate.

they sure as shit have plenty to say regarding Women's Healthcare (re: Planned Parenthood) and right to choose.kv wrote:They aren't they are making decisions about the uterus/penis inside your uterusRomeo wrote:I should have watched that shit show.

I don't think we need a separate Ted Cruz thread, so I will put this here.
I thought this was a joke at first but it seems to be real.
This could be a cover for Gay Times Magazine.

Re: Republican Debate - August 6th
I won't make a new thread for the Democratic Debate, because Trump wasn't in it so, well, who the fuck cares, right...?!
If you weren't one of the two people who watched, here is a brief summary:
Jim Webb: "i don't have enough time to speak, and lets take some time to talk about that... before I go into my stump speech....and mention that I fought for a statue of a black guy and that yeah, I support Big Coal."
Bernie Sanders: "I am very angry! (I am too!) And I have many detailed and thoughtful proposals that address many people's concerns today! .....I do! Here they are!"
Hillary Clinton: "Working families are struggling...yadda yadda yadda."
Martin O'Malley: - I don't remember anything he said- sorry.
Lincoln Chaffee: "Why did I vote for that?.....Well, geeee, I didn't know what I was doing for one thing, and well, I just got there to congress, and well, gee uh, my dad died just then, and well, yeah, I was busy with that, you know and well...you know...."
But I will say one thing for sure, it was a huge relief to see some sanity in American politics on that stage.
The republicans and the media/corporate culture make me want to and then hide in a cabin in the woods.......

Re: Republican Debate - August 6th
I watched some of the deabte last night, and Hilary was clearly the winner. All the reports about her being polished and prepared are accurate.
Bernie Sanders was pretty good too but he came across as weak and inexperienced on foreign policy matters.
The other three candidates did not leave any impression on me, only that they should stop wasting their money and drop out now.
Last night's debate was very mature compared to the Republican debates.
No doubt it's been all over the news today, the funniest part of the evening was Bernie Sanders' comment about the emails.

That was quite funny. I hope you are a little more enlightened about Canadian politics now.
I wish Justin luck. The road ahead will not be easy.
