I still think the United States is too misogynist to elect Clinton 2. I said this the last time she ran. It doesn't help her that there are also good reasons for democrats to not really endorse her views.

This is a very weird set of choices. A centre-right hawkish democratic woman, a far-left socialist Jewish atheist, a giant candy-corn mussolini, and Cuban-Canadian who everyone hates...

What the hell America?!

I'm not convinced they're not ALL "electable"...

And I like Clinton well enough. I preferred her to Obama in 2008. But it's still a weird set of candidates.

It looks like Ted Cruz is about to get hammered regarding several sleazy affairs he's had including one with a woman now working for Trump. I am blown away how bottom of the barrel this election cycle has become with the Republicans.

Yeah, it almost makes me feel bad for moderate republicans who are shit outta luck with viable options. But the party did it to themselves. Hopefully this election cycle will allow the party to implode and wipe out some of these losers for good.

More worrying: Clinton seems to be intentionally, loudly, and actively trying to alienate Sanders/Warren supporters, which may end up costing her the election.

Unlike many here, I am a huge fan of polls. I see this +7 for K over Clinton in a general as a yuge red flag....The repubs machinations are churning towards this in a sure to be cluster of a dub convention.

Very alarming for different reasons.....Cruz and Dump terrify me for similar reason, but K seems inept and incompetent, like a cartoon

Trump is going to be involved with this until the end. Kasich wouldn't consolidate support and the backlash from the combined forces of irate cruz and trump supporters would be overwhelming for the party.

But, yeah, this is all very strange.....

It's like everyone has lost all sense of reality. We are now living a reality show, where nothing has any real consequences...:hs:

I disagree. It's kasich or bust. And the party knows it. But, we'll see

Yeah, it's Kasich or bust....and the party knows it. But I don't see how that happens..... trump/cruz and friends - a sizable portion of the republican electorate are not rolling over dead.

Also those polls are quite wonky that propose matchups that don't even exist. So much can, and will, happen in the mean time. :noclue:

I just don't see what would be effectively an election nullification by a disgruntled right. But, who knows? They've demonstated quite vocally and urgently a mystifyingly stupid, backwards and downright dangerous platform.

So, Cruz is out. (I'm not a Trump fan, but I prefer him to Cruz if I had to pick one)

Looks like it will be Clinton vs Trump.

This is getting kinda scary. Cruz was whole different kind of horrible, but would've been trounced by either Democrat. But Hillary is unpopular enough even among some Democrats, that pretty much had her forced on them that Trump's idiot brigade could vote him in.

Part of me wants to live long enough to vote against Trump (an empty gesture here) and part of me wants my life to just wrap up without ever knowing how this turns out.

Every turn of events as this election cycle progresses, I keep going back to the first page in this thread to re-read my post about Trump having no chance to even make it to the debates. :banghead:

We have a ton of people coming out of the shadows with a proud xenophobic, racist, misogynistic pied piper leading the way.

I'd like to say it's not really "us" and I HATE to universalize, but I have driven across country 3 times in the last 2 years and lived in FL a couple of times and the people I have encountered are far worse than I ever expected. Those expectations were not high to begin with. They are truly terrifying.

The USA is remarkably unevolved from Jim Crow.

It's more than that fueling Trumps rise to power. A *lot* of people are disgusted with the last 15 years' worth of political gridlock bullshit and especially the last few years with a do-nothing Congress, you hear the same line repeated over and over - "(Trump) isn't part of the political establishment." A good percentage of people backing Trump (as well as Sanders) want a perceived outsider who isn't beholden to "Wall Street" and the corporate machine.

That said, I admit it's amusing that Trump has pretty much crushed the pack of assholes from Bush to Cruz and is about to bend over the Republican party simply by mastering the art of the tabloid news cycle.
