no, but I started taping and collecting tapes a year after at age 20, and did plenty of LSD leading up to that...from some pretty cool tapers at that.

and I'm confident in saying I've taped a pretty wide range of stuff...started as a 'metalhead', then branched out quite thoroughly...throw in that I was born in, raised, and have always lived in Alaska, and I'd say it's safe to say I've "been around" a bit...

you've got 3/4 of the OG band, bonafide (sp?) rock stars, and they play and sound great.

maybe there are shows where they 'go thru the motions', but the Fairbanks show sure as shit wasn't one of them.
Be cool if you shared out any recordings you have.
I sent a good chunk of my tapes to ol' filthy (filthpurveyor), and he said there were many upgrades....

no

that's where i'll stop ya....you may not understand just how far they have fallen off...although scrolling your shows you have spent a lot of time on bands on the back half of their careers going through the motions...tastes are tastes and unexplained

and to be honest i can see how todays jane's may better fit the tastes of a metal guy then they would have during the original run...the band is still tight but more rock and roll these days for sure

but to me they have zero balls now...and make shit music/lyrics (they've been riding their first 2 records of material for almost 30 years now)...and perry is a shell of his former self (voice, mind and soul)

but hey welcome and enjoy yourself here man...just answering your question about why there are some bitter people here...it's a site with lot's of people who remember what they were and laugh at what they fail at now

Wasn't going to start a thread for a Jane's show on a respectable Jane's site, so I'll unload here.

It's been 24 years since I have seen Jane's at Irvine Meadows. My son just texted that I should go (and to the LC show at the Music Tastes Good fest in LB. I scoffed and politely replied, but looking at seats they aren't prohibitive for the orchestra level. I'm seriously considering it. I'll revisit after I get some food tonight.

If you go, you can do an A/B test, though I think at this time it will be an A/Z test...

After watching the livestream from Lolla, I feel confident in saying I never want to see this band again.

I fully appreciate the almost everything that is said about the band and I sincerely echo it. But I can't deny the selective memory that resonates from first encountering NS and RDLH. Every time I see them, DN will hit a chord or Perk's kick will drive right through me and I am transported. It's impossible to tune out PF.....this is too true, and sad.

I last saw them at the Sunset Music fest where they played NS (sans thank you boys) and I lost it in a good way.....left drenched and exhausted. At this advanced age, I am sort of pleased I still have some sentimentality left.

Still on the fence.....

A/B test meaning comparing the two Irvine shows...

A/Z test meaning this time the "B" would be so far from the "A" it is a "Z"..... maybe not my best work..

I am so leaning towards this.....my wife actually wants to go with the VF/Cult additions to the Jane's bill.

She's a teacher and we won't be able to get on the road until 3....show starts at 4.....I can see it taking over 2 hours.....I don't want to miss Garbage as I love seeing Butch struggle on the kit and I love Shirley.....always like seeing EA as well

First world problem thread..... :blah:
