Perry's teleprompter doesn't fit in the jam room.

Poor Perry. He is actually braindead. Not 'actually' braindead, but man oh man...

Looking forward to seeing live the new ending to whores: OH YA BABE UH YAH BABE UH YAH BABE!

I wish they'd just do an instrumental gig. Fuck the vocals.

But I was crazy for suggesting people would prefer P4P w/ out Perry.

I wouldn't. Maybe 20 years ago, but not now. Bad vocals ruin gigs, no question. The music is still there, people would just 'miss' the Perry banter. Which to be fair isn't what it used to be.

If he didnt actually say those lines I'll be shocked. If not, credit to you for nailing it.

one of my favorite post 1.0 moments was on jubilee when, coming out of the mini stage set, perk, dave and martyn played 'obvious' sans vocals. i also recall a soundcheck during relapse in miami that i was able to attend where the three instrumentalists played up the beach and had a dad.

not perry bashing here. i think he was great on relapse and still really good on jubilee, but the idea of an instrumental gig is pretty cool.

of course i guess that goes for most any band with a non-instrument playing vocalist. the rest of the band performs two functions - accompanying the vocalist and laying down the music. standing alone they would likely always be pretty interesting.

reminds me of seeing arcade fire on sat nt live the other week. i'm sure the two vocalist/leaders are mad talents but they can be a bit annoying and the song they were playing was just wailing. i thought at the time that i'd like to see the band play that song w/o the singers.

....thank you boys....

I asked Dave about that on DM one time, he dismissed the idea immediately.

Because Perry would lose his mind and kill the meal ticket. Even if that ticket is only buying McDonalds these days.

One of the cooler things I got to see during the otherwise crappy Sammy Hagar/Van Halen reunion tour in '04 was a nearly hour long soundcheck during the day with Eddie, Alex and Michael Anthony (who sang vox on several songs they played). They played some deep Roth era cuts (which at the time hadn't been played in decades) and Eddie was in decent shape during the day (he was trashed that night). There's a ton of bands I like that I'd love to see instrumental shows minus the singer, Janes included.
