Re: Peshawar School Masacre
Another is maybe the Taliban is terrified of Israel....a staunch ally of the west, and the clearest representation of the west in the middle east. They seem like a very logical target, yet not even a peep threat, ever, from these barbarians. Retaliation would be swift and most severe. Frankly, I am...

LJF, do you think this case is fair: http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/Teen-With-Cancer-Claims-He-Was-Fired-For-Needing-Time-Off-for-Surgery-283562931.html ? Taken at face value, I'd like to think they would not fire the guy. I don't know what their policies are, but again I'd like to think that...

I never waited over night, but once my roommate rolled out of work to wait on line for he Beastie Boys show at Irving Plaza before the hello nasty tour. She worked over night and at about 5 in the morning she went with a friend to get on line, they got tickets the show was amazing. For one the relap...

Actually, if SHE is working P/T, SHE is paying taxes. Therefore SHE is paying her own insurance. But next time you drive on the Southern State Parkway or the LIE, you can thank me for your free drive. You didn't pay a toll and my taxes go for the up keep.[/quote] Ok thanks you just proved my point, ...

Did you qualify for Medicaid? Looks like it's "free" for some low-income people: https://www.healthcare.gov/medicaid-chip/ Of course "free" is context-sensitive... Yup that's what ended up happening. Until I find a full time job with benefits, no shame in the game for me. That makes LJF's comment e...

I get why women might be leery, but the reality shows that it's more likely someone they know. Saying every man is a bit extreme.

every man is a potential threat, and thats the sad truth. its not your fault, but thats the unfortunate truth. thats why women like me err on the side of caution most the time. its not because we are unfriendly or rude, its because we dont know who the nice guys are and thats why we might be reluct...

but christ how do you meet people at that point? As a character on The Simpsons once said, paraphrased: "through a mutual friend like a normal person." The whole concept of hitting on women randomly on the street without any other context doesn't make sense to me unless you see women as receptive v...

Two very interesting and different opinions on Mia Love, one of which I think they are saying she won as a result of white privilege. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/darron-t-smith-phd/mia-love_b_6116466.html I tend to like LZ Granderson's article better: http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/05/opinion/granders...

Re: AC/DC : The end of a f... good era
I saw this this morning, man does he look like a wreck. Does it say who he was trying to have killed? No, but it sounds like Rudd routinely solicited a *lot* of the local hookers and would refuse to pay for their services resulting in pissed off pimps/boyfriends threatening him. So he hired a few r...

I admit I didn't fully think of the logistics to getting a photo ID, but cut me some slack since I'm an ignoramus, I still stand by my thought there has to a better system besides, Hi my name is LJF and sign a form. I also still think AS is unpleasant to deal with, but whatever. Happy day to all. ht...

It really bothers me that LJF thinks purchasing controlled substances is equivalent to voting. Re: Photo ID for voting
I agree that there SHOULD be photo ID required for voting, but if that is the case then photo IDs should be provided for free. You can't expect people making 7 bucks an hour to take a day off work to pay to take a bus to the DMV to pay 35 bucks for a fucking identification card. You'd basically wip...

why isn't there a photo ID required for voting? All they ask for is a signature, really that's it. Beer or cigs need ID, but not to vote. Not sure I follow this logic.

Re: elections and race-baiting
The linked ads are shameful but sadly not surprising (nothing's shocking). The tactics, moreover, are hardly exclusively those of Democratic Party candidates--something I assume we agree on. Until the States has total campaign finance reform (I'm for 100% public financing), it's hard to imagine any...
