Re: TGEA in Retrospect...

Yep, totally agree. If I remember correctly, Perry was slamming Jaeger the whole night and the tension was thick. Easily one of the best shows I will ever see.

Re: TGEA in Retrospect...

The show in KC at the Uptown was great... well, not December 2003 at the Beaumont great, but really good. However, the album was hit or miss; I still dig Underground while End to the Lies, Curiosity Kills, Broken People and I'll Hit You Back range from good to not bad. The rest I can't honestly reme...

is it just me or was most of that placeholder text gibberish latin? honestly i would prefer that to most of perry's lyrics since good gods. Lorem ipsum is standard filler: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorem_ipsum There are programming shortcuts for just inserting it without typing/pasting it. But ...

Re: Perry Farrell oficially releases the first single of Kind Heaven

Loudwire article states that the image in OP is the album cover. At least that's a bit more interesting than we've recently gotten out of him. Amazon has the whole album up for pre-order now: https://www.amazon.com/Kind-Heaven-Perry-Farrell/dp/B07PKVRPS9?tag=smarturl-pivot-20 Along with track listi...

Re: Democratic Presidential Campaign 2020

“On a policy level, he’s one of the most conservative Democrats in the field. He doesn’t concretely support Medicare for All, except in some “it would be great, eventually!” sense. He voted against free public college. He makes vague noises about liking the Green New Deal without signing on. He gets...

Idles sounds great ... nice find. I think I will go to the KC show; it is the same week as Slayer.

Re: Democratic Presidential Campaign 2020

My money is on Beto or Biden with Beto as VP. Warren is a non-starter and I don't think Kamala Harris (as much as I like her resume) comes off as warm or super-likable. Of course, everything could change as new people enter the race but I don't think Castro or anyone else so far shows he or she is t...

Re: Kind Heaven Orchestra's 12/2 show: Will it happen or not?

ok I am definitely picking up Tweedy's book now. Thanks for that. I have been finding myself in a similar place with my favorite artists for awhile - the vast majority are broken up, members deceased, or they lost the spark and/or they are total clowns as human beings. Glad I got to see many of them...

Re: The Smashing Pumpkins

Really great show. they played for 3 hours, covered a lot of ground. The three guitar setup does the earlier material a lot of good. Everyone played and sounded fantastic, especially on the deeper MCIS and Adore era tracks. The home movie slide show crap was only one song. The video segments and cos...

Re: The Smashing Pumpkins

This is why I remain on the fence about the KC show Thursday. I want to see them but I really don't want to pay Billy's ego to watch a slideshow of his personal photos. Two years ago in NOLA they sounded great but Corgan couldn't get past the lackluster crowd and insisted on bitching about it. Also,...

Also first day buyer. This was the last time Perry's lyrics weren't average to awful.

Remember optimistic Perry (I'm wishing him well!) once existed before Bitter Mr. Wilson (TGEA/'get off my lawn Eric!').

blackcoffee, that theory applies to me. I had a conversation about this with a friend years ago; I have been an SP fan since 94-95, but I was 17 when Machina came out I think... there was something about that particular age - mid teens - where that record just hit me and it remains my favorite by th...

Re: new band for the new year

I have thought about getting a DD3 to see if it would sound good bouncing off the DD7. I remember seeing a pic of Eric and he had two of them, seems like a good idea to at least try. I will check out the headrush on youtube, what a great way to test out new pedals without leaving your couch. A demo ...
