Re: The official "The Great Escape Artist" thread
Wait, so the artistic direction of this album relies solely on Perry, who has just now set aside some time to be artistic? This is going to suck. It's going to be rushed and half-assed. My guess is Capitol Records rejected the Fusilli Perry album cover that his kids put together one evening on the ...

Re: The official "The Great Escape Artist" thread
I actually think that the lyrics to Kettle Whistle suck. The rest of what you're laying down here, I agree with. I still am blown away when I consider the missed opportunity of JA writing with Eric. The fact that they couldn't get their shit together is a minor tragedy. What I really want to know i...

right!! I forgot to add a comment about that. When I heard it the first couple of times I wasn't exactly blown away, but it's a grower. I've heard quite a few people say the same thing.
But I still look like a moron of course, that's ok, I can take it

great song, works really well live too. The whole album is really growing on me and I think it's way way better than By the way and Stadium Arcadium. I really like the vibe of it, how it's kind of fucked up sounding in a lot of places meaning chaotic guitar dubs panned hard right or left or sound ef...

I can't even imagine what it must be like to live in areas like that where you can have a nice house one day and the next day it's spread out over a mile. Must be intense. We just had the most crazy lightning fest I've ever experienced in Denmark this evening, pretty cool to watch, but that's about ...

I have no issue with how the albums sounded. That music deserved the epic production it received. Up the Beach would not have sounded the same otherwise. There's nothing like turning NS on, cranking the volume up and letting that song stomp on your fucking face. I agree. If you take a song like Oce...

I can't believe they picked Raindance to be the first single. It's not at all the best song on there. I would have gone with Monarchy of Roses I think. The highligt of everything I've heard on the new album is the end of that song where the harmony stuff comes in. Very beautiful

Re: Irresistible Force
Like I said in the Great Escape Artist thread, I like this song less than when I heard it initially. I still love the chorus, but man the verses are just brutal melodically and lyrically. Whole thing sounds put together. I still really like the second chorus with the melodic playing the follows it....
