Has anyone watched Barry on HBO?
I've been recommended it.

Never listened to them before, but I watched The War on Drugs play at Glastonbury yesterday afternoon. I'm hooked!

Re: The Covers thread
Both of Ghost's covers are amazing. The Genesis one is genius, and POTO has some really great touches to it to make it their own yet still keep the pace of the original.

Re: Live shows in your agenda?
Off to see Blur do a warm up gig on the 26th at Wolves Civic. Amazed I got tickets as they sold out in like 10 minutes. Think they're doing two nights at Wembley so seeing them in a 3,500 capacity venue should be great.

Do we know why FNM cancelled the shows? Patton is touring again with Mr. Bungle now so he must be better if he was the reason?

Saw Inspiral Carpets Sunday night in a tiny venue. So good, back to 1990! I never realised the original drummer took his own life in 2016 because he had really bad tinnitus.

Re: Russia vs The Ukraine
Mescal, how much are you paying for your gas and electricity? I'm currently paying £215 a month (240 euros). Over double from last year. Sorry, I missed your question. We are paying approx 450 €/month. And we have solar panels  Jesus! That's expensive. My friend just had solar panels fitte...

I'm watching the Last of Us too. Very much enjoying it!
I've never played the game, and I've never seen the Walking Dead so I can't make a comparison but the characters are superb.

Re: MetallicA
Most of Metallica's earliest stuff (their best) is Mustaine's work. And I would argue Rust in Peace beats any Metallica album hands down. They were just such better musicians. I LOVE Rust in Peace... Megadeth are great and Mustaine is a MONSTER...but aside from Rust in Peace nothing Megadeth has do...

If you’re wondering why football (ball played with feet  ) is so popular, please watch a repeat or highlights of the World Cup Final. Not only will you see one of the greatest World Cup finals (or games!) of all time, you will also watch the greatest footballer of all time and also a future s...

Re: Free will is an illusion....?
I am writing a paper for hopeful eventual publication that actually deals with the claim that 'everything is explicable' (or 'every thing can be given an explanation for why it is or is not the case'), so this stuff is sort of already in the front of my mind anyway. The connection between causes, e...

Re: Free will is an illusion....?
I've just been reading this thread again with great interest.
Hype, what do you say to someone who states that godless morality doesn't exist? Is there any good reading on this that doesn't require 30 years of philosophical study?
And what do you make of this?

Just got tix on the pre-sale for The Charlatans & Ride in Feb. The ticket prices were VERY reasonable...2 General admission tickets were $108 including fees! https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/317079458_689874282501532_8343534013079504492_n.jpg?_nc_cat=110&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=7...

Re: MetallicA
I'm bored of Metallica :lolol: The single's OK, it's got some catch to it. It's just nothing really new from them and far too well produced. They're playing two nights at Download with two different set lists. That's a bit shit I think. Would much rather have another band take up one of those slots.

Wales were poor first half, but stepped it up in the 2nd.
United States have a tight outfit though, aside from Iran, it will be an interesting group.
