Re: The Official Not So “Imminent Redemption” Single Thread
It's pretty fuckin' good but I so far prefer the live version - Eric's bass has more bite and Perk is more up front. There's a few parts where Perry's lyrics don't quite jell with the music but the music itself is great. If they can put together a batch of songs that at least equal or surpass this e...

Re: What's up with Perry ?
Perry being the oldest of the four plus having his larynx temporarily removed during spinal surgery a few years ago just before covid certainly weighs on how his voice was going to hold up going forward.

I agree. The 2001 show I saw was much better than the 1997 one, I thought. Weren’t they playing solo songs during the sets though… sacrilege imo !! [/quote] They played Hungry from Dave's solo album and Happy Birthday Jubilee from Perrys' during the "acoustic set." At the Hollywood Bowl show, they ...

Only if Biden dies... :noclue: Cognitive dissonance may be blown for 90% of the media, but not his inner circle. No way democrats entertain a hostile takeover. Dems are in a panic after last weeks disastrous debate performance. Although it would be nearly unfathomable how hard it will be to simply ...

Will he go to prison though.... :eyes: Highly unlikely. Despite the fact he got convicted on all 30+ felonies, they are all low level offenses. Trump will probably have to pay a huge fine, get probation and maybe do some sort of community service. The goal here was to smear Trump (note: allowing St...

Re: The LOLLA That Never Was
My ideal late 90's Lolla lineup would go something like this:
Dick Dale
The Cramps
Kings X
Gavin Friday
Bauhaus (reunion)
Talking Heads (reunion)
Nine Inch Nails
Prince

Re: UK/European Tour ‘24…with Dave
Man, every clip I've seen so far from the show look and sound great. Great to see Dave back and looking none the worse for wear. I hope they do some non-festival shows with Love And Rockets - get me off my hobbled ass and back to some shows Goddammit!

Re: Chris Chaney Joins AC/DC
The impression I’ve always gotten about Chris is that he’s extremely low drama and very technically proficient. He is not a great songwriter however and has very little on stage charisma. So when you need a bass player that will show up and hit every note without fail, without bringing any bullshit...

The production just sounds off to me. Which is odd as I liked Andrew Watts production on the last Rolling Stones album.

Re: The Dead Musicians thread
Heard about Geordie's passing last night, this one really hits hard. Since Killing Joke got back together in 2003, I made it a point to see them every time they played within driving distance right up to their last US headlining tour. They were one of those bands that I always had a sense every show...

It's an ELO kind of day... Part of the soundtrack of the childhood of those of a certain age. z9nkzaOPP6g ELO was my first big outdoor show (Anaheim Stadium) back in the summer of 1978. They were touring the Out Of The Blue album and they had a really massive stage production. The stage was a giant...

Fantastic history lesson…… thank you thank you. As I have gotten older, I realized how sane and stable Roth is in comparison to the VH bros….. he seems much more content and not embittered, super well-traveled, the EMT thing, he saved all his money… I had no idea Sammy wanted out in 96. I could und...

Re: Van Halen
OK, grab a beer or three and sit back....... In early 1996, Van Halen with Sammy Hagar had just gone through a really painful process of coming up with music for the Twister movie soundtrack. The writing was on the way for the past year or two that Hagar was not long for staying in the band. He and ...

Re: New Album Producer
Someone who can mic and record a great drum sound, hopefully.
Tony Visconti, Steve Albini or Butch Vig would be interesting. Youth might be in their ballpark. No ear bleeders like Brendan O'Brien or Tim Dalgety though. Brian Eno would be incredible even if the band's new material sucked.

Re: April 2023 Tour Thread
I thought it was somewhat interesting that Dan (Eric's guitar tech, formally Daves) said that Daniel Ash is the worst person he has ever worked for. He said he is a prick and hates him with a passion. at 10:20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcGVHUl6kvk Doesn't surprise me. Old friend of mine who u...

I saw Guardians 3 a few days ago and I gotta say it does make me feel a lil old hearing songs we grew up with in these movies...they went HEAVY on the 90's stuff...Spacehog, Radiohead, Beastie Boys and even Faith No More We Care a Lot were prominently featured....no JA though Director James Gunn wa...

More dates added. In addition, I would not be surprised if they add a "secret" club show in SoCal a few days prior to the Cruel World Fest.
