Re: Van Halen
Thanks, Panda. I am listening again to ADKOT and fuck me did they they reattach balls to the band. Glad I got to see Sam and Dave in 2002 in Kansas City and VH in St. Louis in 2008, both with my bro. Fantastic memories. I miss seeing and playing shows. Fuck this year. Yeah I hear ya. This will be m...

Re: Van Halen
Panda, i love the way u write... any insights about vh’s last album? I have read many articles about a different kind of truth... loooovve that record and i know 7 songs date back to 70s demos.... are there any other songs they worked up but didn't record? Or do u have any insights about the dave d...

Re: Van Halen
All darkly fascinating, but of all, you're saying Wolfgang essentially inserted himself into the band. Wow Yep. After the terrible reunion tour with Sammy Hagar in 2004 where Eddie was already a drug and alcohol-addicted mess, he went through a nearly 3 year period of aimless wasted time doing noth...

Re: Van Halen
I know nothing of their finances, except it's generational. I would think the concept of legacy would have risen on the priority pole at some point in their decades long journey. What I can imagine, it would be a crippling decision to ascribe that task to one person. When I read your post on bios, ...

Re: Van Halen
(Snip) Curious there hasn't been a serious, researched bio by the likes of Charles Cross, Brendan Mullen, etc on EVH. There’s been several attempts by several noted authors over the years to write an authorized bio with Eddie’s cooperation. The last real attempt I know of was around 2002. The gener...

This might be interesting. A recording session with Jaz and Geordie of Killing Joke with Peter Hook from Joy Division in 1993. This will be released late Spring next year as a 3 song EP:

Re: Van Halen
Panda, do you have any recs for biographies on EVH? If any take his life through '15 that'd be best. If not, through '08? There's really nothing even close to being a definitive bio on Eddie or the band itself for that matter. Especially anything that covers his life from start to (near) finish. Th...

Re: Coronavirus
My wife had to get a Covid test 4 times so far in the past month. She's having stomach problems again and has to go through a bunch of procedures that include upper/lower GI, CTs etc. So every time she has a procedure appt, she has to get a Covid test about 3 days prior. She does it at the Hospital ...

Re: The Biden Administration
John Kerry as Climate Czar, hahaha. You just can't get rid of this fucking guy. He's a political hack, and somehow he keeps getting jobs. He's turned failing up into an art form.
I guess this is part of getting back to "normal" .... bringing back in old establishment career politicians.

It's over. Trump and his band of merry idiot lawyers have exhausted all their options.

Re: Coronavirus
1. These CEOs have zero motivation to misrepresent the results provided by an independent body, because these same results will go to the FDA. The company does not collect the data. That's not how this works. (snip) I strongly disagree with this statement. There is literally hundreds of billions of...

Re: Coronavirus
I think most of the US is going to be in serious trouble by New Years, far moreso than at any point so far. The arc of new cases is simply out of control. There's just so many stupid, selfish people out there. And politicians are useless and government run services and general medical care are start...

Re: Perry: "I reached out to Eric" + "No more Jane's/PFP albums"
Well, here's to hoping that Summer 2021 will be great. We'll all be vaccinated and tons of bands will be playing shows. Hopefully we'll see some good JA one more time. I think 2021 is going to be a write-off as far as major concerts go. There's some bands that have made or are tentatively looking a...

Re: Van Halen
Eddie's son Wolfgang did a long interview on Howard Stern today that filled in a lot of detail on Eddie's last few years. There was indeed talk of putting together a final tour called the "Kitchen Sink" stadium tour which would have featured the original line-up with Michael Anthony but also Hagar a...

Not if he's in jail! I wish, I doubt we'll ever throw any pres in the clink If we didn't prosecute Bush Jr, Dick Cheney and Rumsfeld and co for lying to the American public and UN to drag us into unnecessary wars in the Middle East, there's no way anyone will go after Trump on National charges. It ...

David Hasselhoff covering a Lords Of The New Church(!) tune with James Williamson(!!) (Stooges) on guitar. Actually not bad:
Hoff needs a bra though. Them's some big moobs.

Re: Ritual Rocktober LP re-release
I believe there's a new vinyl pressing of Nothing's Shocking coming out this week from Rhino. I have zero info on whether it's a new mastering or not. the previous remasters from the last decades worth of re-releases of this album haven't sounded very impressive so fingers crossed.

Well, one thing is for sure, guaranteed. No matter who wins the election, 20% or more of people are going to have serious mental health problems..... :noclue: "Are" going to have....? I think at the very least that number has long ago been exceeded. You're going to get a good taste of just how far ...

Re: Coronavirus
My wife and I got tested Monday. Did it at a local Kaiser hospital, completely drive-through. Took about 45 minutes to get through the line and the test was the typical Q-tips up the nose and back of throat. I actually got a nose bleed, the nurse plumbed my sinuses so roughly it felt like she popped...
