Re: People and their toddlers and below

Hey in the US is it free to take a baby to the cinema or something? That is the thing I don't understand with cases of adults taking very young babies who cannot even begin to enjoy the movie with them, even a child ticket is still quite expensive so it seems like a big waste of cash. I rarely encou...

Re: Homage to Pinochet

It's interesting they way he seems to be represented culturally/educationally there, as when I learnt about him in school Pinochet was always looked at as a military dictator. In a situation where that aspect of his regime is not really raised, or it is skewed as mostly positive, I imagine it could ...

Re: Homage to Pinochet

Is Pinochet/his regime something widely taught in Chilli in school etc? You kind of make it sound like you either hear about it from fascists, or you hear nothing. If that is the case it seems kinda dangerous. :conf:

The hosting amount actually looks really cheap for 36 months. Obviously still a lot to cover alone for Creep, but a good hosting deal none the less.

it's $251 for three years and $12 a year for the domain name. so far we have raised $150. after shipping costs probably about $130 will be left. i will make up the difference.
Thank you.

That actually makes a lot more sense. The event isn't really getting a huge amount of detailed coverage here, mostly being dragged out each day with a revised headline to sound ever more sensational. The media angle is actually pretty shocking, and a little embarrassing.

Re: Man eating another man's face:2nd incident in a month!

I really am curious about why the foot was sent to the Conservative party headquarters. It's a really odd thing to do. There was a quote pulled from his blog thing about how he was upset necrophilia was not allowed, maybe it was some misguided attempt to draw attention to his 'cause'/get it legalis...

Re: No paid maternity leave? This can't be right, right?

Things like maternity leave are particularly awkward types of welfare anyway, because whether you believe women should be responsible for the costs of their pregnancy/offspring, or it is a basic entitlement to have a child regardless of financial position, there is a third party here: the child. The...

I did this back in '91 for my Totonka Janes bootleg cd that just has a b/w image of the old band logo w/wings. I wanted something a bit more colorful for the cd insert so I doodled this out w/watercolors on a little spiral bound watercolor pad while sitting on the couch watching that week's episode...

Patent violations aren't serious?
Well considering how majorly the use of patents has been stretched and abused in the last decade or so, I would argue the answer is often no. That's probably a whole different thread though...

Perry sounds more like he is talking about himself and his projects then Adam and his memory. It's actually pretty shitty of the editor to be so sloppy structuring the article slant.

When you say water are you using it interchangeably with liquid, or do you specifically mean water? Not that I am much into philosophy but wouldn't water in it's ice state be a sort of container? I always thought that was the uniqueness of 'water' as the only substance that had so many states whilst...

There is generally an extra generation between parents and kids, depending on age one has kids. The boomers were unusually long lasting with a twenty year bracket but most generations are 12 - 15... Re: how's the tour going?

I have no problem with people being negative, it just seems on the whole people have been really positive about this tour. That is the only reason I was surprised Hokahey seemed to be saying people were negative towards it, unless I missed some sarcasm on his part.

Re: how's the tour going?

It's not just this thread. There's been a lot of negativity regarding this tour and I think it's generally unwarranted, and it's mostly coming from people that haven't attended. I was not "blown away" by the show but I'm not sure I could be without a time machine. You really think there has been a ...

Is Dave wearing the weird JA merch key? If so that is pretty weird. It's kind of a distinct shape because of the sloppy cast, only reason I would even think it was the same piece.

Re: US, poverty, tent cities and kids.

The life expectancy for low-income individuals mentioned in the first article is actually way more suprising than the homeless figures it quotes. There are many obvious reasons for dramatically reduced lifespans in homeless populations but only 51/72% F/M reaching 75 in low income situations... that...

Not sure if they make those locking chest freezers anymore? In recent years we've had a couple of stories of kids dying in washing machines/tumble dryers. Don't those stories have more to do with neglectful parents than overly curious children? At least the ones making the news near me have been ab...
