For those in the Netherlands, we don't have to go either Pinkpop with their crappy line-up or to Germany to catch Jane's on their upcoming tour.

Re: Peter DiStefano albums

I listened to the Rambient album "So Many Worlds", a project he did with film composer Harry Gregson-Williams (Pete also played guitar on quite a few of HGW's scores, and if I remember correctly HGW did some stuff on Kettle Whistle).

Can't say I'd recommend that album.

I’m ready for Josh on the new songs Band can say — Dave was sick but we were inspired, we didn’t want to do a whole album but the music Gods brought Josh to us—Dave gave us his blessing and we’re excited here’s some tunes. We hope you love them, we’ll see you on the road and when Dave is ready we’l...

Re: New Album Producer

Someone who can mic and record a great drum sound, hopefully. Tony Visconti, Steve Albini or Butch Vig would be interesting. Youth might be in their ballpark. No ear bleeders like Brendan O'Brien or Tim Dalgety though. Brian Eno would be incredible even if the band's new material sucked. Considerin...

A run of shows on the west coast with Tonic, Sugar Ray, and Better than Ezra?

(No shade. I'd 1000% go to that, honestly. )
Damn, Tonic. Now there's a band I haven't thought of for more than twenty years. Remember quite liking their first two albums.

Re: Official Spirits On Fire tour thread

Damn, why does everybody keep pointing at Troy for the reason Jane's bailed the rest of the tour? I know he's new to the camp but as far as I know he has a reputation of being a pro and isn't some troublemaker or anything.

Re: Official Spirits On Fire tour thread

There's probably a handful of Jane's fans in that morgue, no one's moving. Such a shame. It was like that when they opened for NIN and when they played at reading festival before pulp and the strokes. It’s a bummer when good bands are on the same bill but most of the fans are only interested in see...

Ain't no Wrong and Three Days

EA and Perk really sound great together!
I really love Troy but he seems as out of place in this band as Duff did. The solo sounds decent enough I guess

Re: It’s Official - Dave is sitting out the tour

In all honesty I'm really surprised so many people in this group don't seem to know who Troy van Leeuwen is.

But yeah, Jane's without Navarro is weird. It's kinda like The Stones without Keef or Aerosmith without Joe Perry.

How many groups re-capture their early form some 20-30 years later?! I can't think of one. Actually surprised no one mentioned them yet, but The Afghan Whigs. Reunited in 2013 and have delivered three excellent albums since. Their latest is getting rave reviews and they also still put on a hell of ...

60 Songs That Explain the 90's

Ringer podcast "60 Songs That Explain the 90's" recently discussed 'Been Caught Stealing'. Pretty fun episode with some interesting observations about Jane's. And luckily no mention whatsoever of Etty :p https://open.spotify.com/episode/5XU5J1WJAJQQhIUk2QPASI?si=0fa241f5027f42f2 The pod itself is al...

First single got released today. Perhaps a bit generic rock but overall it sounds pretty good. Nice to see Navarro playing guitar again.

Re: Pete and Perk working on new P4P music

Maybe the best song Pete's done. Sounds like it could have been a P4P track after GGU but Pete's vocals are so good on this recording and his guitar sound is the best I've heard it. Would like some to hear more rambient demos like New Day Clear mixed this way from 1997. Anyone have these? fSv9VOIEI...

LOL why does this make you sad? Because a former artistic genius now churns out shit? Man. I just joined but this feels like a toxic place. Join the Jane's Addiction Forum on Facebook instead. That place is a Perry lovefest. Say something negative about Perry or Etty and you'll be banned!

Perry sounds decent enough but he really should stop bringing Etty to the party. She adds absolutely nothing to this performance (unlike for instance Mariqueen on NIN's cover of Fashion) and as always her "dancing" looks ridiculous.

I heard Pirate Punk Politician on national radio here.

I must say, when it came on, I didn't turn off the radio
The song is pretty decent, a bit overproduced.

The dance routine during the live version is pathetically bad though, it's quite embarrassing.

Re: Dave plays on the new NIN EP

How funny would it be if Eric was supposed to be in NIN, but it ended up being Dave? :noclue: It would be cool to see Dave tour with NIN, would be the most interesting thing he did musically in a long time. But I don't think Reznor is the easiest guy to work for, so I'm not sure of Dave would be up...

Conan O'Brien still uses Slash's face for URLs. As much as I love JA, the cultural awareness of GnR is an order of magnitude higher, the precious few references to Dave Navarro in pop culture not withstanding (there's a good one in a Star Wars episode of Family Guy where the old pedophile guy gets ...

Saw them last monday in Amsterdam. They put one one hell of a show! Dulli may have gained a liite weight but he's still a great singer and wonderful entertainer.
Like Janesbiggestfan already mentioned, he's basically everything that Perry isn't these days.

So, last night I had a very strange dream...

I dreamt I was at a Jane's gig. As a surprise they decided to do cover of Prince's Purple Rain.
Perry obviously butchered it, but Dave nailed the solo perfectly.

So yeah.... :bored:
