Re: So .. now what?

After the videos I saw with him, I am not sure this is a bad thing.

Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread

I am watching the lolla stream. I no longer feel I have to caveat "Jane's Addiction is my favorite band of all time" with "Back in the day" Josh is just fucking perfect. Eric/Perk were never gonna be a question performance wise. Biggest surprise these days, maybe even bigger than Josh - Perry is fuc...

Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread

They played Obvious? No, more to the point... Eric played Obvious? Has he ever played Obvious, I think even the studio recording had a session guy on it. I know they played it with Martyn on the Jubilee tour. If Eric is actually playing Obvious, that shows there is just a ton of water under the bri...

Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread

I think they are sounding better than they have since 1.0 - and they are slowly mixing up setlists. I think doing kettle again is pretty exciting. And I really liked the show I saw with Troy. I thought he was really rough in the early shows I saw videos of, but by the time they got to Ohio he pretty...

Re: Official Spirits On Fire tour thread

Dare I say that I am not missing Dave nearly as much as I had expected I would? Cleveland (or was it Cincy... I have been back and forth between the 2 all summer) show was very solid, I really appreciate what Troy is doing, and he has just gotten better as the tour wore on (stop, bcs were still the ...

Jubilee tour opened with Kettle. I wish they had done this is Cleveland. But it's a really great pull.

Re: Official Spirits On Fire tour thread

Troy seems a perfectly cromulent back up. I appreciate him hitting the main bits you expect bu.t not doing a Navarro impression. And he tightened up a lot since the clips from the first few shows. Stop and Stealing were kinda weak though. But solid (and ocean size downright interesting) all around. ...

Re: Old & new tracks to be recorded

I assure you the comparison begins and ends at "worst song on the album". Take comfort in the fact that Idiots Rule is still better (in my own opinion) than 95% of strays.

Re: Old & new tracks to be recorded

Standing in the shower is actually one of my favorite Jane's songs, especially the lyrics. Idiots Rule, while a country mile better than superhero, is basically the superhero of NS. to me. for what its worth. which isn't much.

Re: another soulmate-listen here

Did not hate it, won't by it. I agree with the statement that if you tossed the vocals I would never figure out who it is. Though the solo is slightly Dave-esque, I did like that part. I listened to the end and it went to some interview with Dave really bashing Avery. Never heard that before. I don'...

So far 4... in this thread.

Yeah, fuck. I was just kind of typing as I listened. I don't contribute very often.

L.A. Medley maybe, but I am not hearing it. Underground and IF are probably the most Jane's like tunes so far. This one is OK, just got to it, my initial response to the intro was "Shut the fuck up Perry..."

Re: broken people

I like the guitar, and I like the song so far, sounds kind of Beatley to me, but I can kinda hear Jane's in there somewhere. Really picked up with guitars coming in heavier. Until then I was putting it next to Classic Girl in my head and it seemed to kind of fit there...

Re: splash a little water on it

Just made it to the chorus... what the fuck is this? I do not like the vocal style at all. Sounds like some fucked up 70's classic rock thing. That is just my knee jerk gut reaction, but the whole album was great to solid to tolerable so far, until this.

Most Averyesque Bassline so far... only up to Ultimate Reason so far... This is probably my favorite so far.

Am I the only one slightly disappointed that we didn't get a "Here we go..."
